Origin

Rydia was born in the town of mist and was raised by her mother, whos name remains unknown. It isnt known if she has a father, but if she did, chances are he was also a summoner. When two men, Cecil and Kain, travelled to delieve which they thought was a harmless ring to mist, they slayed a dragon constructed of mist on the way. Upon arrival at mist they found out that it was actually one of Rydia's mothers summons and, as it had been killed, her mother had been also. Suddenly, the ring shone and destroyed everything in the town. Cecil and Kain didnt know that would happen and tried to save the girl, but she paniked and accidentally summoned Titan, destroying an entire mountain in the process.

When Cecil awoke, Kain was nowhere to be found, so he took Rydia to a nearby desert town named Kaipo to let herl rest. In the night, imperial soldiers came and revealed that the ring was supposed to have killed all of the summoners and demanded Rydia be slain. Cecil saved Rydia and her confidence returned to her. SHe revealed her name to cecil for the first time and decided to accompany him on his travels.

The adventure begins

THe next day, Rydia and Cecil set off but saw cecils girlfriend Rosa lying in a hut suffering from desert fever. Rydia and Cecil decided to go and search for the cure. Heading north into the mountains, Rydia revealed her summoning talents aswell as her ability to use black and white magic, though only at a beginner level. In the caves, the duo met an old man, tellah, who said he needed their help to get his daughter back off a 'spoony bard' who had taken her as tellah wouldnt let them marry. Accompanying the old man through the cave, Rydia helped him and Cecil overcome a massive octopus at the end but the trio was too late to save tellahs daughter, who had been killed by imperial soldiers.

Telleah blamed the bard, who introduced himself as Edward, and attacked him. But Edward explained that anna sacrificed herself for him and that she had been killed by a man named Golbez. Tellah vowed to kill golbez and ran off. Meanwhile, Rydia, Cecil and Edward travelled into a cave and killed an antlion to get the cure for Rosa, who healed up miraculously and joined them. THe four decided to travel to a town inhabited by monks to warn them of golbez and the imperail army. Going across another mountain, Rydia used a fire spell to melt a massive pillar of ice blocking their path.

Near the mountain peak the group encountered Yang, a monk from the town they wer heading to, and helped him defeat a bomb creature. Upon arrival at the town, Rosa and Rydia left Cecil, Edward and Yang to help the nurse heal injured men from golbez' attack. BUt, in the crystal room, Kain appeared, but he was brainwashed by golbez and, if it wasnt for rydia, he would have slain him. Golbez kidnapped Rosa in the process, but a quick prep talk from Rydia compelled the others to get up and search for her.

Leviathan

The next day, the four decided to take a boat and travel to the imperial capital to oppose golbez, but halfway there, a whirlpool was formed. It was made by leviathan, the god of the seas. He knocked Rydia off the boat and consumed her. He then sent the others in oppisite directions across the globe.

Rydias return

It had been a while now and Cecil was reunited with Yang, Rosa and Kain. They were opposing Golbez and were all nearly killed until and aged Rydia returned and used her mothers dragon to destroy golbez. She explained that as she was the last summoner, leviathan had taken her to the land of summons to train her in her powers as nobody else could. SHe could no longer use white magic but her black magic was now alot more powerful.
