Major Story Arcs
With time running out on the mortgage, Rufus looks to foreclose on the circus and claim it as his own. Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd arrive, however, and make a deal to save the circus. Rufus tags along to try and foil any possibility of the circus being saved.
At one point, Charlie finds an act that he thinks is dynamite. He unwittingly asks Rufus’s opinion of the act (wanting the “man on the street’s opinion), who immediately shoots it down as a foolish idea. Rufus continues to follow the boys and sees that there is very little chance of the mortgage being paid off. He is surprised to learn, though, that a last minute act is found. The act is a hit and Rufus is paid off after only a day or two of the new act performing. He leaves the circus in a dour mood.
