    Origin

During Ancient Egypy, the Scarlet Scarab was created by Dann and Garret to fight to Elementals.

The Scarab exhausts its powers from time to time. A spell by Garret mystically teleports it to the ancient grave of the sorcerer, enabling the artifact to regain its powers.

    Major Story Arcs

An archaeologist Abdul Faoul discovered the Ruby Scarab during World War II. Using the Ruby Scarab he became the first Scarlet Scarab. He lost the Scarab when it teleported back to recharge, and he didn't think to look where he found it.

Years later Living Pharaoh had managed to get his hands on the Ruby Scarab, but when he was fighting with Living Mummy, Richard Harper stole the Ruby Scarab. Richard had a plan to sell the Ruby Scarab to Alexi Skarab, and then steal it back. Alexi tries to use the Scarab to fight to Elementals who have returned, but is unable to make it work. Eventually he receives a vision when touching it revealing that it needs a soul of a wizard. Somehow he manages to make it work to save the day. Scarab now depleted, Alexi decides to lock it away, but Richard Harper steels it again.

Abdul left his costume and info about the Ruby Scarab to his son Mehemet Faoul on his death bed. He searched for the Ruby Scarab for years, and eventually found it in the place his father found it. He used the Ruby Scarab to get back the Eye of Horus that had been stolen and brought to America.
