Roy Rogers Prayer

Lord, I reckon I'm not much just by myself,
I fail to do a lot of things I ought to do.
But Lord, when trails are steep and passes high,
Help me ride it straight the whole way through.

And when in the falling dusk I get that final call,
I do not care how many flowers they send,
Above all else, the happiest trail would be
For YOU to say to me, "Let's ride, My Friend"
AMEN

Roy Rogers was one truly of the most beloved movie and television cowboys of all time. He died on July 6, 1998 at age 87. He married Dale Evans on December 31, 1947 and thus they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 1997, six months before Roy passed away. His weekly televison Western "The Roy Rogers Show" ran for six seasons on NBC in the 1950's and then for three more seasons on CBS in the 1960's. Besides his televison program, Roy made a multitude of Western films. As evidenced by the Roy Rogers Club Rules and his prayer listed above, Roy was a man of deep faith in God. His fans trust that Roy is now enjoying his reward in Heaven.
