You got paid (or received some other compensation) for staring at a wall?

Nowhere in the OP does it implicate jobs.

Probably a Blue Ribbon. Have you ever checked out my Pulp Fiction Game thread? I also give out trophies and championship belts.

My bad.

I meant something boring that you got paid for...or compensated for in any other way.
#11 Posted by Gylan Thomas (2727 posts) - - Show Bio

I worked on a conveyer belt in a potato chip factory for a day.
It was quality control. Got so bored I started to just watch the potatoes go by and see if I could recognise them when they came round again.

As long as I am making money, I could care less how boring the job was.

I love money.

You had to inspect them more than once?

(I'm smelling a winner here already.)
#14 Posted by Gylan Thomas (2727 posts) - - Show Bio

I was supposed to inspect 'em once and remove or fix any bad ones. Lost interest pretty quick though.

#15 Posted by Crom-Cruach (8792 posts) - - Show Bio

@Edamame: eeeewwww! *vomits*, that's a disturbing leap of mind you made there.

I work in a gas station doing maintenance. Cleaning up the place is what I'm paid to do and it's boring as hell.
#19 Posted by Crom-Cruach (8792 posts) - - Show Bio
@Edamame:  probably, at least you get to help people by getting them into a healthier state, me I sometimes feel like Sisyphus pushing that rock.

Ja, ja.  I don't enjoy typing. I find that boring.  Happy?  "
Not as boring as that potato chip job.

The scrubbing toilets job may be kinda boring, but I would think that just coming up with ways to suppress the urge to vomit would be somewhat of a challenge.

One can also vomit when performing surgery for multiple  reasons.  "
Vomit or not vomit, surgery isn't boring, Edamame.

Potato chip man is still winning.

Slice it or bin it.
It was borin' as hell.
The souls of everyone else there had dryed up and died. No one spoke to each other or even looked up.
I couldn't do it. Didn't even finish the day.

My chest?
You mean like my shirt or something, right?
I got a Sean Connery/ Austin Powers chest. I could maybe tie it in there.

I'm bored again, so it's time for another contest. This time, instead of telling me about your boring job, tell me about your (in other people's minds) boring hobby.

Reading comic books is excluded!

Dang it, I didn't even know about this thread. I had to stuff envelopes for a few straight days, I don't know whether that's more or less boring than potato chip inspector.
As for hobbies, jeez, I don't know. I don't really have any hobbies. I used to collect stamps.

Fail. :(

I think stamp collecting is a fascinating hobby!!!

After all, what you are dealing with is tiny limited edtions of commercial art.

And stuffing envelopes is just another chore that most of us have had to face at least once in our lives...and choose to pass up the second time it is offered to us. :-)

Check your Yahoo email, Jotham.

I think I may have stumbled across the most boring hobby ever. If indeed it is actually a hobby to begin with. More likely, it is some sort of pathology.

The Capers Comic idea came from me being bored at work.  I was thinking of what some characters would say in a "Rap battle" and since Feather is a sweetheart platic man was created first of the capers.  A few more are in the works as we speak.

Oh and how I was "paid" for it I was still on the clock at staples.  I wrote raps for Plas, Catwoman and Deadpool when I should of been picking product in the warehouse.

I had a dancing bear job for an insurance company. There are only so many times you can do the running man or the jitterbug before you realize everything is pointless.

My toilet is fixed!   Bob and I wen t over to my condo and he did the deed!!!

We celebrated by going to the Vietnamese restaurant, where I had beef sauteed in lemongrass and an avocado smoothie!

Then we went over to the Dollar Store and bought soap and a flashlight. We also got a 3D place mat picturing dogs at the beach. I will scan it in a little bit.
