Did you know Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was back on?  Why am I even bringing it up? Snoop Dogg was on the other day and was asked "In the 2009 superhero film "Watchmen," which character's costume fittingly includes a mask decorated with inkblots?"  Is this an obvious question?  Why doesn't he know the answer?  Will he get it right?  Check out the clip to find out.

Anyways, not surprised he didn`t know it, but I was glad the audience did. Interesting how 1% thought it was D, 3% thought it was B, 6% thought it was C, and 90% thought it was D. Doesn`t that only equal 99%? So someone didn`t vote? Hmmm. Anyways, cool that $50,000 went to some kids.

I thought that it was common knowledge.  Rorshach test. You can get it even if you haven't read the book.

"Common knowledge" is a bit unfair, especially when one is talking about things that have basis in two niche areas of knowledge: comic books and psychology.  Not everyone needs to know about these things.  The Watchmen movie may have created a few new fans, but really, from what I've gathered from people who never read the original series, the movie was kind of confusing and disjointed, and this is without being stoned.
 
It's also possible to be a Superman fan without ever having picked up a comic book, thanks to all the cartoons, movies, serials, Macy's Day Parade floats, and so on.

Why doesn't Snoop Dogg know who Rorschach (is)? Same reason most people don't. He's an obscure comic character who was recently in a mediocre film adaptation. He apparently fell asleep during the movie, and I can't say as I blame him. I love Watchmen, but I still haven't been able to sit through the entire Director's Cut. He was fairly sure of the answer, and used a lifeline to make sure he got it right, just like anyone else would do in a similar situation. Rorschach tests are also pretty rare these days, and there's absolutely no reason to know anything about them, especially if you're not in Psych 101.

P.S. - He's dum cuz he smokes the reefer! HURRRRRR!!!

Yes. The opening credits are the best part of the movie, hands down. Everything after that is downhill.
