The man is a lunatic, and put his ethics before humanity's survival. Why is that great?
Rorschach
Character » Rorschach appears in 118 issues.
A violent, noir detective/anti-hero and the chief protagonist of the "Watchmen" series. With a black-and-white worldview and an uncompromising moral code, Rorschach is well-known among criminals as the terror of the underworld.
Why does everyone love Rorschach?
I've been wondering the same thing, as I personally hated Rorschach...maybe it's his stubborn refusal to compromise his values.
Yeah, I personally prefer Nite-Owl or Ozymandias." I've been wondering the same thing, as I personally hated Rorschach...maybe it's his stubborn refusal to compromise his values. "
because he was crazy, and was like a more realistic version of a Batman-type character. He was also the only character who seemed to give a crap about the overall problem. Manhattan was removed from human society, Silk Spectre was more worried about sex with various characters, and Nite-Owl seemed more concerned with his erectile disfunction. And Ozymandias was busy being the hidden villain.
And why was Rorschach in the wrong to not wanna let thousands of innocent people get killed???

And it was actually millions who died. To save billions.
I thought about giving an answer to the thread title but it's clear you don't actually care what anybody says anyway. You don't want to learn about the character or why fans of his like him. You've made up your mind that you don't like him and this is really nothing more than a hate thread.
As for Rorschach being willing to let billions die let me ask you a question.
Would you be willing to let someone kill your child if it meant saving a million others? You know what don't answer that. Just think about it.
Rorschach is awesome because he can rip other characters design and still be better than the original lol jk
but he is based on the Question... They're both awesome :)
He actually has an interesting psychological profile, like many of the other characters in Watchmen. He has a depth of character that most people seen in traditional superhero comics do not (or did not). You don't have to be sympathetic to his values or his ethical system to appreciate him as a character. Or maybe you do. I don't. He is incredibly well-written, and his perspective on current events during Watchmen is very interesting to me. He basically considers himself to be Batman, except his delusions are more transparent, and he's not written to be nigh-invincible. He hits emotional depths at several points in the story, but also pulls off the disturbing calm of a sociopathic killer. To sum things up, I like Rorschach because he's an interesting character to read about, and due to the nature of Watchmen, you get to learn a lot more about him than you would about most characters. He's more believable than Daredevil, or Batman, or The Punisher. He has many human faults, and his life up until he becomes a vigilante is far more realistic than most origin story portrayals. His motivations are more simple, and his worldview is completely black and white (like his mask). Compromise? No. Not even in the face of armageddon. Never compromise.
"None of you seem to understand, I'm not locked in here with you; you're locked in here with me!"
"And all their sex and filth will foam up about their wastes and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!" and I'll look down and whisper "no"."
"Your hands; my perspective."
Nuff said.
Everybody loves an anti-hero. For me Dr. Manhattan was the coolest character in Watchmen. I loved the irony of his origin.
I hate how people say he is a more realistic batman. Everyone thinks being really violent and killing people is more realistic. Yet I don't have a giant problem with him myself I think I kinda do like him.
I think many people have become desensitized and even worse, enamored of, abject violence so they relate to this ultra-violent murderer.
He looks like a 1930's alternate Batman with no high tech but with a more insane perspective of life.
" @spiderpigbart: Would you be willing to let someone kill your child if it meant saving a million others? You know what don't answer that. Just think about it. "Well, actually, right now, I say yes. But I don't have children, and if I did, that answer may change. And that doesn't work for Rorschach anyway, he's a sociopath.
" @ComicCrazy said:What I mean is everyone thinks that to make a realistic superhero he has to actually be an anti hero instead of being a really good guy like Hal Jordan or Spiderman or whatever he has to be like wolverine. But yeah I do like Rorschach and I do even think he is realistic but I hate it when people think being violent is more realistic than having good views and morals I mean in some ways it is more realistic but not all the time." Everyone thinks being really violent and killing people is more realistic."This is not why I think Rorschach is more realistic, though it is perfectly true. Also, Batman is incredibly violent, so I'm not sure what your point is there. "
" He's a hero who kills people in interesting ways, nuff said "That's pretty much the definition of "anti-hero".
2 things that sell well, Sex and Violence,
Rorschach has none of the sex but is really cool on the Violence part. :D

This.

Beacuse he is the most realistic character in Watchmen and he is a callus bad ass with a heart of gold that's why.
" Beacuse he is the most realistic character in Watchmen and he is a callus bad ass with a heart of gold that's why. "True, but I'd say more a "heart of rage".

WHAT?!?!? HELL NO!!!!!!!
"For me...I would never...ever...let innocents die to save someone else. I would die trying to save people...but I would never kill innocents to save others. No matter how many people were getting saved. "
That adds the element of "crazy"
I love him because he's conservative....even though he's poor...like myself...
he fights....even though it means he'll get hurt
he is the only hero a real world can bear
Fans of Rorschach love him because he has motives and has a amazing backgroind to as why he hides ans doesnt compramise he uses house hold items as weapons and is far skilled than a lot of superheros where he is just a human when the goverment banned masked vigilantes he stayed out there And continued to fight for justive because he believed
I love DARK characters and characters with barely any powers, But love the xmen though.
Rorschach is Just AWESOME.
