To want to see that Rorschach isn't killed, but rather through some tear in fabric or something is transported to Gotham? Is it wrong to want to see this guy keep going?

Not at all my friend. I thought this guy was an awesome character and the idea of him breaking little fingers in Gotham is pretty cool but ya know, Watchmen is all self-contained and good. You wouldn't really wanna ruin it with cross-overs and stuff. I dunno. Am I contradicting myself?

It couldn't be wrong too. I actually just read it today, and I think he deserves a second chance. Or, maybe he did. Read "Kingdom Come". He's in there.

I want more Rorschach. It makes me sad that he's dead. And if he's not it makes me sad that he lost his hat.

Rorschach, to me, is a better hero than most.  He stands up there with Batman and many others because he doesn't exactly have powers, per se.  Granted, he's a brilliant criminologist, and deft at escaping, but that's what makes him all the more powerful as a character: he's HUMAN.  Those types of characters tend to be more powerful for the reader because you can relate to them so much.  It makes me wish he'd come back...  But then again, Rorschach's death puts his humanity into a rather dramatic perspective.  Truly, one of the greatest characters ever.

yes it is bad, the whole point was that he died for wat he believed in, by letting him live all realism and therefore all the deeper meanings of Watchmen are trivial not really helpful to real life.

yeah, i think rorschach is everyone's favorite watchmen character.  but his death was extremely important to the story.  something would have been lost if they'd kept him alive.  rorschach represents the black-and-white view of good and evil.  those who do wrong must be punished, those who do not do wrong must be protected, and as he said near the end, without compromise.  to die at the hands of dr. manhattan is fitting because manhattan and veidt represented the shrewd reasoning based on reality rather than ideals.  they try to create a better world by meeting evil somewhere in the middle, and this is our typical nature.  there are so few people unwilling to compromise truth, justice, and honor, and those people get walked over by the whores of the "real world".  it is about the choice between working toward an ideal world and working within the already existing world.  the ideal usually loses.  it's important to remember that moore's story does not point us in a certain direction.  it is a reflection on the world as it is, a blunt and terrifying reminder of the people we've become, and what we're capable of.  moore wants to take us out of our daily lives and meditate on the various psychologies that drift throughout mankind.  and amongst those is rorschach, the tragic hero who, like captain america, finds his proper place in death.  at least until the world decides to revive him.

I know what you mean. But Batman would pretty much try to kill Rorschach if he showed up in his city. The WeatherMan said:

His jail sequence is the best jail sequence ever! I loved it even more than the prison break in Face/Off. Only INSANELY great men find ways to electrocute men..oh and kill men with fat and a swirly (yes a SWIRLY) in prison.

I actually like the movie's version better.

"The world will look up at me and scream 'Save us!'. And I will look down, and whisper....'no' "

It sounds a lot more widespread and makes him sound more bitter/hateful.

rorscach was a great character....but if they started doing things like that it might be the whole series bad...the whole series of watchmen really tried to put an end to superheroes....plus while rorschach was great in watchmen, he wouldnt last amounst the rest of dc's superheroes
