Siege is over, it ended as we expected. Good action with Cap, Ironman and finally Thor beating the Sentry but it was not wrote very well. Not only did Siege finish with a lackluster performance Jenkins tied into the Bendis story to say Rouge and Sentry were intimate...yes they kissed, had sex...whatever
If they had a night together it might explain why he wasn't so unbeatable, Rouge and her power drain must haved sucked/drained the million exploding sun powa out of him

Rogue would have died if she kept on touching Ares. There is no conceivable way she could have weakened an individual as powerful as Sentry, in any way.
Also, their relationship was not placed chronologically, that I recall.
And no, I don't think their "relationship" works, at all. It seemed an unnecessarily forced development. Rogue was never even seen in the same comic with Sentry before that. Also, she has like 4 people romantically interested in her in Legacy. Adding one more without any character build-up leading to it is just another attempt to tie Sentry's history to certain individuals in the Marvel Universe.
While Jenkins' Sentry is the true Sentry, this issue was rather poorly written.
Sentry is not a god morpheus_, Ares had the power of a god, rogue can't siphon that over time, i think it stated her body wasn't able to keep it as a vessel.

Sentry is more powerful than many gods, including Ares. The designation is little else than an honorary title. It's not as if Rogue tried to absorb Ares' immortal spirit, in which case I could understand it.
But Rogue had achieved control over her power at that point, so it's not that she blindly siphoned Ares' "core", including his essence, as you say.
To get back on topic, I don't think Rogue could contain the Sentry's power in order to effectively diminish him. She tried to touch the Surfer in the past, and she was knocked out cold after two seconds. I imagine touching Sentry with a view to absorb his power would have a similar effect on her.
She thought that his powers are takable, so she aimed at what she thought and (actually was) his powers are.
if she has control over her powers like you said then theres no need to contain Sentrys powers because she doesnt have to siphon them in the first place ; )
She has control over what she can absorb. In the past, she would absorb powers, personality traits, and memories, indistinguishably, all at once. She can now choose to "view" the recent memories of a person without absorbing their personality, weakening, or sending them in a coma, or she can just to absorb their powers straightforwardly, again, without repercussions for said person. Still, if the intake is massive, she can be overloaded. Her far greater control now does not contradict my earlier statement.

There are few characters like this... However, you are correct.
@Jordanstine: No offense, but I think you have to be looking at it with pretty strong kid filters on not to take it as they had sex.
@Morpheus_: Not that I'm saying this is the way it was, but I think the idea may have been that the Sentry was flat immune to Rogue's powers somehow. His powers did tend to have some pretty funky effects sometimes. Anyway, if thats not the case then they absolutely did not work, because if she was absorbing power (whether she could handle it or not) then she was also absorbing the whole Void aspect of the power too, and thats just all kinds of trouble.
In any event I think the whole idea is ridiculous to begin with. Maybe she would have a fling with him but ultimately they are not emotionally compatible. She belongs with Magneto in my opinion.
Oh plz no.... srsly the rouge X sentry was one of the most retarded things I ve ever seen! I hope someone fixes it and says that rouge got her memory messed up due to sentry's mind wipe on everyone.

Magneto is too old and he has kids already, srsly they treat girls in the MU like objects.
This sucks, these writers should treat female characters with more respect. They are not there to use just to get the Sentry some 'macho' points!... I hope somebody fixes this... plus, a part of Rogues charisma is that she is Remy's girl, not the Sentry's plaything on the side. That would just make her a whore...
It would be cool to see a kid come from this, although I agree Rouge & Sentry sucks, their powers combined could make for an interesting character... Some dude with a huge amount of power that like keeps uncontrollably absorbing energy, becoming too powerful to contain it all and going completely insane...
I agree with others who said that it was a forced development. We don't know what happened between them, it could be from a kiss to sex. And if it happened before Rogue managed to control her powers, that means that Sentry was immune to her touch like others have been in the past ex. Colossus in steel form, Blindside etc.

Hmm...that's an interesting theory, although I doubt there is any evidence whatsoever to suggest that the theory is true, at least not yet. But...if Rogue's memories of The Sentry weren't hers...then whose might they be? (They better not belong to The Void because that would just be wrong on so many different levels.)
Ms. Marvel would be the obvious choice. Linda's own memories are somewhat incomplete, what with the Kang-related gaps. I'm familiar with Rogue's powers, but not her complete contact history. That list only ever gets longer.
@Morpheus_: rogue has absorbed thor more than once. so i don't think absorbing ares would have killed her. but i doubt she could drain much from sentry.
