    In Your Hands...

    Despite the fact that I actually own a copy of this comic, I have no idea who actually produced the above image as, incredibly, the cover artist isn't credited. Aaron Lopresti did the main pencilling for the book but I don't think he produced this marvellous portrait (someone called Julie signed the covers for the rest of the run so I'm thinking this is our culprit). The artist in question, I think, was more influenced by X-men evolution than what Rogue was currently doing in the X-men comics at the time. However, she did make one very important change to our hero that seemed to become a standard in books to come. She got rid of Rogue's awful perm. Just for that, this cover rocks. Take a good close look at the detail on this cover, particularly Rogue's face. The artwork is brilliantly realised and expressive. The cover was used frequently in the aftermath of this book coming out to advertise Rogue, so the quality of the image was recognised. I love Rogue and I particularly love great pictures of Rogue. Well done, whoever you are.
