The Rocketeer; Home Again; Dear Betty last edited by Cosmic Cube on 08/24/22 06:05PM View full history

The Rocketeer Flies Again! Dave Stevens unveiled the Rocketeer nearly 30 years ago to instant acclaim, and in all the years since that auspicious debut, respect for Dave’s talent and his greatest creation have only continued to grow.

Last year, IDW had the honor of releasing the complete Rocketeer saga in several editions, showcasing the work of this great artist as it was always meant to be seen-completely remastered, with nearly every page scanned directly from the originals and recolored by Dave’s hand-picked colorist.

Today we are able to celebrate Dave’s talent once again, with an all-new Rocketeer anthology miniseries written and drawn by some of the finest creators in comics, and with the full cooperation of the Stevens family.

The first star-studded issue of The Rocketeer features a gorgeous cover by Alex Ross, and terrific stories by John Cassaday, Mike Allred, Kurt Busiek, and Michael Kaluta, plus outstanding pin-ups by Mike Mignola and Jim Silke-all paying tribute to the continued legacy of Rocketeer and Dave Stevens!

Good Old Fashioned Rocketeer Adventures 0

IDW brings back the Rocketeer with an army of incredible writers and artist. Get ready for some great fun.The GoodI like the Rocketeer but I can't say I'm a huge fan. I really enjoyed the movie and even had the theatrical standee (from when I worked in a movie theater). That doesn't mean I don't have incredible respect for the character. If you weren't a fan before, this issue should do the trick. The first story is written and drawn by John Cassaday. What more needs to be said? It's the perfect ...

Dave Stevens would be proud 0

I was scared I wasn't going to be able to read this, because the world was suppose to end on Saturday (today. yikes!).....so I read it on Friday just to play it safe. If you have been anticipating the Rocketeer, as much as I have, then you were smiling, wide as the grand canyon, after you had it in your hands. The paper is nice and thick. Glossy as well. Alex Ross does a fine job with the cover and really enhances the leather jacket. This issue has various writers and artist who contribute a stor...

    Rocketeer Taking Off 0

The Story: Short stories involving Dave Stevens character The Rocketeer. My Thoughts:IDW has brought together a bunch of talented and respected comic creators for this series, each giving their own respective take on the character. This first issue of the series is comprised of three short stories. The first story is written and drawn by John Cassaday with colors by Laura Martin. Cassaday pits the Rocketeer against Maroni and his men who are holding Betty captive. This was good old-fashioned com...
