    Dave Stevens would be proud

I was scared I wasn't going to be able to read this, because the world was suppose to end on Saturday (today. yikes!).....so I read it on Friday just to play it safe. If you have been anticipating the Rocketeer, as much as I have, then you were smiling, wide as the grand canyon, after you had it in your hands.
The paper is nice and thick. Glossy as well. Alex Ross does a fine job with the cover and really enhances the leather jacket.
This issue has various writers and artist who contribute a story. There are 3 in all.
The stories are short and give the reader some insight about the character relationships involved. If you do not have any prior experience with The Rocketeer, then you might be a little behind. But they do give you a short back story on the first page, That should do the job.
The art is truly amazing. The last story and art stood out for me. Done by Kurt Buseik and Michael Kaluta. The art reminded me of Ignition City a lot.
I love the relationship between Cliff and Betty. She is a firecracker! She slugs Cilff for screwing up, even though he just saved her life. Gotta love it.
Does anyone know if all the issues will be like this? Or will there be a story arc?

I really enjoyed the movie and even had the theatrical standee (from when I worked in a movie theater). That doesn't mean I don't have incredible respect for the character. If you weren't a fan before, this issue should do the trick. The first story is written and drawn by John Cassaday. What more needs to be said? It's the perfect ...

The Story: Short stories involving Dave Stevens character The Rocketeer. My Thoughts:IDW has brought together a bunch of talented and respected comic creators for this series, each giving their own respective take on the character. This first issue of the series is comprised of three short stories. The first story is written and drawn by John Cassaday with colors by Laura Martin. Cassaday pits the Rocketeer against Maroni and his men who are holding Betty captive. This was good old-fashioned com...
