Making everyone else look bad
Grimm Fairy Tales introduced its next new heroine here and one somewhat unlike the others thus far. There is the same kind of grittiness and character depth, and while there have been darker characters before, this one takes on her own version of darkness. To be sure she is a tough character, one that despite her gender seems to not to want to take abuse from anyone but also shows some compassion as she takes on her namesake's tendency to rob from the rich to give to the poor (though the rich are usually either corrupt or criminals in this case.) The graphic scene about half way through was pretty brutal as well and what one expects from Grimm Fairy Tales not pulling any punches (I don't know - was she raped?) and serves as a way to introduce the toughness of the character in visual format, even if this has been done before in varying degrees with other characters. The one qualm I would have with the series is that it introduces the character in the most boring of ways, by the non-starter Council of the Five Realms which has never really been used effectively across the entire franchise. Still those used to their Grimm Fairy Tales heroines having a little more depth won't be disappointed here.
