Greatest Scif-fi movie of all time

When I first saw RoboCop, I was actually suprised on how well the movie was. My god, it was probably the best Sci-fi movie that I have ever seen. It had it all, realism, comedy, action, drama, great music, great picture, great effects, great acting, and a very outstanding story that would take place into the future.
One thing that I noticed is that there are a few people out there who are not too thrilled about RoboCop, and I actually found out why. Seeing that the movie was such a huge success, it started a huge franchise and of course, sequels that followed. Some people who actually seen RoboCop on TV for the first time, are probably watching RoboCop 2 or RoboCop 3, which both films and the fourth was a disaster. I honestly believe that the RoboCop franchise is what makes people think twice before watching the first RoboCop movie. Much like other movies that was supposed to be veiwed by adults only ended up being franchised to where it  attracted a young audience. Most people who haven't seen the first RoboCop would easily take it as a childish movie, Conan the barbarian had this same problem as well. So if you haven't seen the first RoboCop, and you only seen the sequels that followed, but your not sure about the first, then your probably missing out on one of the best movies ever.

This movie doesn't need a Good and a Bad review, I give it a f***ing awesome all the way. Only bad thing that I did notice, is a glitch with the effects. Where you see RoboCop in the movie busting a drug warehouse and tossing Clarence Boddicker through glass windows, you'll notice that one of the windows he goes through breaks two seconds before he hits it. But seeing thats the only bad thing in this movie, it actually recovers itself easily to where I forget about it.

-The storyline was good, the best i've seen that takes place into the future, they actually kept it normal and modern. It was actually easy for me to follow and adapt too. Even made me feel sorry for Murphy when you see him become RoboCop and realizing that his family thought he was dead. One part in the movie that really made me want to shed a tear is when he was in the house he used to live in and realizing that his family left when they thought he died, that was sad and really F***ed up.

-Acting was awesome, all the way through. I loved the villains in this movie, the supporting cast, the cops, the coorperate assholes, basically everybody played very well in this movie. For me, the best villain was  Clarence Boddicker , man, did I like this guy as a villain, watching this guy is actually one of the main reasons why I would watch this movie again.

-Music score, was also awesome, it actually did make you feel more into the movie when you hear that RoboCop theme. If you actually seen the trailer, I thought they were going to use the Terminater theme seeing that they did for the RoboCop trailer.

-Visual effects and the surroundings were also great, I even liked the part where you see RoboCop go arrest Dick Jones and you cant help but feel like the movie is taking you into a more futuristic veiw seeing how modern it looks during the whole movie.

-Last but not least, is the "Ouch" or the "Oh F***" moment you get in some movies, yeah, lets not forget the toxic waste scene. That was horrible, you see a badguy try to run over RoboCop with his vehicle and ends up crashing into a toxic waste tank. Coming out of the truck you see this guy screaming bloody murder and horribly deformed and f***ed up beyond repair, you can't help but feel bad for this guy, that was probably the worst death in movie history.

This is what people thought of the movie when it came out.
-Known as the 16th most successful movie in 1987

-Considered as best film of 1987 by many critics

-Nominated for Academy Award for Film Editing

-Nominated for Academy Award for Sound

-Won an Academy Award for Sound Effects Editing

-Entertainment Weekly calls it the 14th best action film of all time

    Conclusion:

Basically, if you haven't had the chance to see this rare Masterpiece, I would give it a chance. I cant promise that you will like it, but if you like action, sci-fi, violent movies, comic like story, then chances of you liking this film would be very high.
