At the age of nine, Timothy Drake cleverly deduced the identities of Batman and Robin. Four years later, after the death of Jason Todd, Tim convinced Batman that he should be the new Robin. He would later become leader of Young Justice.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Stephanie Brown is the Cluemaster's daughter. She becomes the Spoiler to "spoil" her father's criminal plots, and dated Tim Drake while he was Robin. Steph temporarily becomes Robin when Tim is forced to quit by his father. Later, she briefly resumes being Spoiler before Cassandra Cain decides to pass her the mantle of Batgirl. In the New 52 and Rebirth, she's back to being The Spoiler.
Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne's loyal father figure and butler. Alfred raised Bruce (and later Dick Grayson) after the death of the Waynes. A former British secret agent, Alfred is a skilled surgeon who often treats members of the Bat-Family.
He was a businessman, archeologist and the father of Tim Drake, who was the third Robin and currently Red Robin. He was killed by Captain Boomerang.
As the first Robin, Dick Grayson was the most famous sidekick in comic book history. As he ventured forth on his own, he formed the Teen Titans and became their leader. When the boy became a man, he became the independent hero known as Nightwing.
Dana Winters-Drake was the physical therapist of Jack Drake but became his second wife and step mother of Tim Drake. She was believed to have been killed during the Bludhaven crisis, but writer Fabian Nicieza has confirmed her survival.
Ariana Dzerchenko was a former girlfriend of Tim Drake when he was younger.

Barbara Gordon was the first modern age Batgirl until she was brutally shot by the Joker, rendering her paralyzed from the waist down. Barbara reinvented herself as Oracle, providing intelligence to the DCU heroes and leading the Birds of Prey. She has recently become Batgirl once again to protect Gotham City.

Steve Smith was introduced as "the toughest cop in Gotham". Rough, tough but ultimately honest. He later had to leave the force on charges of corruption. He resurfaced as county sheriff and supporting character to Robin/Tim Drake.
Cluemaster was once known as Arthur Brown, a failed game show host who turned to a life of crime, leaving trademark clues as to his actions. He had a daughter, Stephanie, who took up the name Spoiler. After Stephanie's death revenge becomes his only goal.
Harvey Bullock was once a corrupt GCPD cop, until he turned over a new leaf and made a conscious effort to be an honest lawman. He is now one of Jim Gordon's most trusted officers.
Intelligent, rich and sophisticated; Oswald Cobblepot puts up a gentlemanly front, but behind closed doors he is the angered, power hungry criminal known as The Penguin. He shows flashes of compassion sometimes, but he is dominated by a desire to be respected and to control those around him.

The daughter of two notorious assassins, David Cain and Lady Shiva, Cassandra left her father as a child after she killed a man and saw his pain and fear while he died. After saving Commissioner Gordon's life, she became the new Batgirl with Batman and Oracle's blessing, and was later adopted by Bruce Wayne. She would later give the role of Batgirl to her friend Stephanie Brown, and became Black Bat. In the New 52 and Rebirth, she takes the alias of Orphan.

Young but intelligent and ruthless, Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong has clashed with both Batman and Robin on several occasions as the General. Obsessed with all things military, the General is not a foe to be underestimated, if his past exploits as a gang leader and an anarchist are any indication.
James Gordon is one of Batman's first supporters, helping him fight against crime and corruption in Gotham City. He eventually rose to the rank of Commissioner in the Gotham City Police Department, and continues to be one of Batman's greatest allies.

A G.C.P.D. officer, and later detective, that worked with Robin (Tim Drake). She was formerly of the Metropolis Science Police. She is the grandneice of Jim Harper (The Guardian). Also She was partnered and a lover of Mon-El when he was working in the Science Police.
A fellow student of Tim Drake's. Tim had to pretend to need to be tutored in math. The two dated a couple times but things didn't quite work out.
King Snake was a former British soldier, smuggler, mercenary, terrorist, and the father of Bane.

A low level villain of high muscle mass and poor education, the Baffler is on a fruitless quest to be known and respected. He leaves childish clues to his crimes in an attempt to be like his former employer, Cluemaster.
