@war_killer: Yeah, the continuity would be a lot less confusing if Grant Morrison wasn't allowed to continue Batman Inc.

I honestly didn't mind his New 52 run of Batman, Inc. Part of me feels that some of the continuity issues he made may have been more of the faults of the DC Executives as looking back, it doesn't seem that they even knew what would be canon and what wouldn't when the launched the New 52.

But the fact that DC allowed literally Johns run on Green Lantern and Morrison's run on Batman roll over into the New 52 did cause some continuity issues that have yet to be resolved. The rest is because of DC's dumb idea to squeeze all of Batman's (as well as the entire DCnU) into just five years, causing even more problems with continuity.

@war_killer: Yeah, what I was referring to was that DC have actually claimed to have extended Batman's career to longer than 6 years after releasing their mistakes however no writer seems to include this in their stories.

Yeah, it's weird. Like you said, DC originally lead fans to believe that Batman may have been operating in the shadows years prior to his "introduction" in Justice League: Origins. But like you said, writers never really included this in their stories and with Zero Year now about to finish, it's obvious that claim isn't true.

@war_killer: @soumya: Its because it Batman. They can do whatever while disrespecting your intelligence because they feel you will accept it. As for green lantern I'm guess DC had to make budge cuts on their writers.

@war_killer: I don't understand why they had to put a time line on everything. Just time it as years ago or at the beginning, making there be a five year gap just made it impossible for them to keep anything straight.

@justice_teen: It does seem like they are just hoping we are dumb enough to not notice the gaps and just let them do whatever they want.

@wimble23: They whole "five years" thing was probably the stupidest DC did out of all of the New 52. Trying to cram so much into that short-amount of time is just dumb and not only leads to a confusing timeline for the readers, but makes placing things like when characters first met and how long characters have been around even more difficult to do.

There should have never been a "five years ago" at the beginning of Justice League #1 but instead should have simply be "Years Ago" or something. We would know that heroes are just coming on the scene, but leaving it open as to how long superheroes have been around in the DCU would have given the writers more freedom to flesh out the characters and create a better timeline.

That way we're not trying to figure out how Batman can have literally four different Robins, all of which are different ages, in the span of just four years.

DC also should have rebooted everything, having the first storylines of each new series being the characters new origins (similar to what Grant Morrison did for Superman in his first Action Comics arc.) Instead of having Zero Year twenty issues into the New 52, that should have been what DC started the series with.

Good stuff all around. The recap was greatly appreciated to catch up. Loved Tomasi's handling of the League in this.
