Major Story Arcs
Roberto Estacado was the host of The Darkness artifact during World War II. He was married to a thief named Adrienne Estacado. Estacado was working as a hitman during World War II for whoever paid his price. In 1942 he ventured to France on an assignment to kill a man known only as Logan.
Logan was in France at the time in a pub when Estacado arrived offering to buy him a drink. While Logan did not know of Estacado's ability to wield the darkness he knew of his reputation as a vicious killer who worked for whoever paid his price (in the case the Nazi's) and that he never missed. Logan refused to drink with him and departed.
Estacado later found Logan and attempted to shoot him but Logan caught the bullet. Realizing this was no ordinary mark Estacado proceeded to unleash his dark power upon the unsuspecting target as the bullet was created by the Darkness itself and thus he could transform it into one of his dark creatures. Despite being momentarily surprised Logan cut his way through the dark creatures with his bone claws. Estacado fled the scene but as he had earned Logan's wrath the Canadian made it a point to hunt down his would be assassin.
Eventually Logan tracked down his would be assassin and after a fight Logan mortally wounded Roberto. It is only by sheer luck that the Darkness Entity was able to survive as it drags Roberto into the very darkness and tended to his wounds.
Eventually he healed and would marry Adrienne, a career thief. They robbed banks but eventually they were found by the law and after an ambush mortally wounded Adrienne. However the Darkness used it's power to preserve Adrienne's life as she was pregnant with Danny. Roberto dies from a combination of his wounds and the Darkness curse.
Powers and Abilities
Weapon Crafting: The Darkness grants the host the power to craft any weapon that the host can imagine. Roberto was seen creating a sniper rifle and his own ammunition. The round used on Wolverine was caught (much to Roberto's shock) and thus he transformed the bullet into a giant darkling.
Armor: While Roberto is never seen armored the Darkness is shown to encase the host in armor as needed.
Enhanced Strength: Stronger than normal men.
Life Creation: The Darkness grants the host the ability to create life to serve the host. Depending on how much effort is placed in the creation depends on how much autonomy the creation has.
Darklings: Creatures that serve the darkness. They can only be released in absolute darkness and are (generally) obedient to the host's commands.
