Robbie Robertson

Robbie Robertson is a comic book character that first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #51

Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Bugle.

Joseph “Robbie” Robertson is J. Jonah Jameson’s right hand arm. He is the opposite of his employer. He is a man of integrity, thoughtful and staid. Everybody loves him at Daily Bugle.

Even if he is one of several redaction members, he arrives to Denmark himself when he says his way of mind. That is why when J. Jonah Jameson tries to attack Spider-Man, Robbie tempers him. Nonetheless, it is J. Jonah Jameson who always takes the cover. But everybody who works for a journal in New York knows Joseph Robertson has a great part in the success of Daily Bugle.

Robbie spent his childhood in Harlem. He was an assiduous worker in order to succeed his studies and to impose himself in a world where it is difficult to be a black guy from Harlem. His passion for journalism began in high school. He worked in every subject even if it hurt his friends.

It happened one day when Joseph Robertson wrote an article on his friend Lonnie Thompson Lincoln (Tombstone). Indeed Tombstone was a torturer with his classmates. Their friendship was over and Lonnie threatened Robbie. Joseph Robertson decided to not publish his article. Another time, Robbie saw Tombstone killed someone.

He kept his silence until Tombstone became a high criminal at New York. He decided to denounce him. Tombstone was incarcerated. But Robbie was incarcerated too by a judge corrupted by Kingpin. Robbie was jailed in the same prison as Tombstone. Lonnie forced Robbie to escape with him. Few miles from prison, Tombstone threatened an Amish family. It is too far for Joseph Robertson and hurt Tombstone with a fork. Severely injured, Lonnie was arrested and Robbie was discharged.

Everything was fine for Joseph Robertson until Norman Osborn:char:1484]] bought the Daily Bugle. Robbie is a man of honor and principles. He decided to retire from Daily Bugle. He came back when J. Jonah Jameson retrieved his directory of Daily Bugle.

Finally, there is still only one mystery around Joseph Robertson. It is probably certain that Robbie knows the truth about the double identity of Peter Parker. But he never revealed this information.
