Yes, I Am a Fan of Rob Liefeld
@Superguy0009e: because the guy is childish and weak minded. he's what 40? and still acts like a kid with a temper tantrum. They say art imitates life, and thats exactly true. Look at his stuff and notice how it is just flat out childish art work and mediocre writing.
@Kal'smahboi: I heard...and I hear that. I mean mediocre really does describe his writing. If he were on the RPG board? I think he would still be boo'd out of writing.
@Superguy0009e: Reading back, that was a pretty heated statement :P But my jist still stands. He's too old to be acting like that, and to do it just shows his lack of character, which is maybe due to his using it all on dead characters
my problem with him is just how he can be cool one second then go on twitter and bash stan lee or attack a site for quoting him wrong...i just cant get a read on the guy
He was calling people dweebs the other day and b!tched out Mat (inferiorego). It was the height of unprofessionalism and if I hadn't known, I would have guessed that he was a twelve year old angry kid on the internet.
@Superguy0009e: I think he knows he's a terrible artist so he's sensitive to criticism. He responds positively and eagerly to praise and recommendations and like an angry twelve year old to anything that isn't overtly positive.
The one good thing I'll say about him is that he's obviously a huge fan of comics, however that doesn't mean he should be employed in them.
@Mercy_: i want to like him, but he does things that make it hard to stick with him. I know Linkara gives him a ton of crap (that's why I gave him a chance), but he does things that are hard to forgive. I kid you not, he called Stan Lee a douche because he felt he stole all the credit from Jack Kirby (which to me is BS, idk where you stand on that)
I just found an interesting article at Comics Alliance: Rob Liefeld is Right: How To Deal With Haters.
What really made me LOL was this quote by Liefeld [originally from: How To Beat The Haters ( how I do it ) 10/06/2011]:
I was drawing the third issue of a sold out comic book featuring characters that had not carried their own title in 20 years, do I let these attacks get to me? Sorry, I have no time and I have deadlines to meet, and arguing with any of these bloggers would accomplish nothing. DO NOT EVER send a negative comment or engage a negative review, its pointless and takes up valuable time. I advocate moving forward and servicing your fan base.
That was then, this is now (following the review of Deathstroke #9):
