Rob Liefeld Leaves DC Comics
Are you people crying about the editors nuts? They single handed saved the comic industry from being erased, and because a few creators that are not forward thinking want to whine, it is the editor's fault? Grow up fan boys! DC Comics is a business, meant to make money for them. Guess what? They are making money hand over fist! The entire industry is seeing new readers and followers in every corner.

Why does everyone hate him. OK he's not my favourite writer or artist but he has done some good stuff. I haven't read any of his DC stuff as I wasn't getting any but the one issue of Hawkman I read was good. I liked his work on Deadpool, X-Force and Captain America years ago. I understand he's not great but I just wonder why everyone hates him?
The reason I don't like him (aside from some of his really bad art) is that he's a jerk. He accused a lot of talented people of being hacks, while he himself shouldn't be the one to point fingers in that department.

Babs, ma'am -
This man has been a sore within the industry from his beginnings. The fact that he has a 'creative' problem with the characters (not his intellectual property) he's been working with is laughable. He literally just has to draw/create/submit and wait for a paycheck. I get it that he wants input within the medium - but it's not his company, his characters or even anything resembling his intellectual property. The fact that he sought to handle his frustration via social media (and Twitter of all things) is a grand representation of how this man operates. And always has.

For those of you that have been thoroughly enjoying Rob Liefeld's take on New 52 characters like HAWKMAN, DEATHSTROKE and GRIFTER; we have some bad news for you.
That's like three people, not counting Liefeld himself.

The 'genius editors' you're praising so highly didn't save jack, and they certainly didn't do it single-handedly. The industry was in bad shape, but far from failing. I've said this several times about the reboot, and I'll say it again; I could care less about how much money they make. I'm paying for quality books, and stupid moves like employing Liefeld on a book that was beginning to do very well is far from quality. Faux-saving an industry doesn't absolve them from being scrutinized for further screw-ups.

He's a sub-par writer that sometimes produces decent material and an even worse artist that never produces even average material.
Well this just made my day, now let him do some indie creator owned stuff that i don't have to buy or even look at. Whatever this editor did worked great, now please call marvel and do the same to romita jr.
But seriously, we see a one sided story here in which Leifeld has issues with an editor making us believe that DC is controlling and to blame. Let's not forget that "The Infinite" that he did with Robert Kirkman was canceled after 4 issues due to creative differences. Seems to me Leifeld isn't the easiest person to work with.
I've never seen comic fans this united, this must be how people felt after WW2 ended(quoted from fade). Now I can finally read Deathstroke.
@FadeToBlackBolt
OMG He did NOT just badmouth someone else's art?!!!!!!!!Some of Rob's newest tweets include: "Don't look for any tell all interview with me. Just follow this feed....the best stuff has not been shared--not even close!" and "DC actually asked why Grifter sales hadn't gone up? Hmmmm..which book kept the same tired art when I came on board?? "
....We get it Rob. You're a drama queen who loves to criticize and complain about your colleagues. How professional.
Marvel and DC have been heavily editorially mandated for years now. Unless your name's like Morrison or Bendis (and even then) sounds like you pretty much just have to set your scopes to the designated fields. That being said as far as how this effects some writers and others...

Good RIDDANCE!!!
This has to be an Inferiorego alt
People who actually like comics don't like Rob Leifield... I for one dont, not sure if anyone else caught the post by image comics, inc today as well on facebook which makes this even more hilarious.
But without all the pouches, where am I going to keep all my things?
Won't someone please think about the pouches!!!
Rob Liefeld wasn't without talent, it's just that he didn't have all that much.
I browsed through the latest Deathstroke and wondered why they had this Gopher that looked a bit like Lobo. Then I realized it WAS Lobo ...
I read yesterday that Wonder Woman and Superman are to start being a couple, then I read the final issue of Voodoo, then I read that she was going to continue in a Liefeld led book, then I read that Liefeld is leaving DC. I will take my small victories where I can get them I guess.
This thread is turning into a Gif/Meme fest and a carcass feeding party. Liefeld is maybe smart to get out of an industry (temporarily) that holds up its writers/artists as scapegoats for editorial goof-ups. I'm sure he has some interesting stories to share but it appears most don't care to listen.
Just sayin'.
(insert mob mentality celebratory gif here)

Oblivion...That's where it's going. X_X
*and then everyone woke up* Wait!!! This isn't a dream?!?! Hit the bricks Liefield. I'm sure you can find some other place that will allow you to draw oddly shaped weapons and completely ignore human anatomy.

Forgot about that. I have to admit I have seen some of this and it is wrong, I remember he wrote of working on Infinites cause of something to do with inker.
