Battlestar was once a friend and partner of the Right Winger, but he abandoned his friend's and accepted the governments offer to become the new "Bucky" despite their refusal to also take on the Left and Right Wingers.
As a member of the Bold Urban Commandos, the Right Winger fought Captain America when he tried to stop them from committing a hate crime at an international students dorm on a local college campus.
John Walker joined the military to honor his older brother Mike who died in the Vietnam War. After his successful career in the military John was told by a friend about the mysterious individual known as the Power Broker, who gave people superhuman abilities. John received the treatment from the Power Broker and gained superhuman physical power. After receiving the treatment from the Power Broker John was now in debt to him. John was then convinced to be the corporate sponsored Super-Patriot. As Super-Patriot Walker organized a rally in Central Park to publicly criticize Captain America. At the protest rally John was attacked by the B.U.Cs (Bold Urban Commandos) or "Buckies" which were supporters of Captain America. After defeating the Buckies Walker wanted to people to decide who was worthy of being Captain America. Soon after the incident Steve Rogers was later forced to abandon his costume identity due to a "difference of opinion with the government". After being trained by the Taskmaster to mimic the style of Captain America the government appointed John Walker to be the next Captain. As his time as Captain America many noticed his more brutal demeanor. John always felt that he was living in Steve Rogers' shadow, so a battle between the two was arranged by the Red Skull where Steve dominated John. Later the the Commission decided to give the Captain America identity back to Steve Rogers. The Commission was impressed by John Walker and decided to give him another identity known as U.S. Agent. Right-Winger was the partner of Left-Winger, and enemies of the U.S.Agent. They were responsible for his parents being killed. U.S. Agent has since then left them horribly burned.
