Here we go with another advanced review for you. I've been enjoying Witchblade once again. I was away for too long. We do get a chance to catch our breath after the events of First Born here. Although I'm not saying there's no action. Heck, it starts out with an Angelus Warrior attacking. That isn't the end either. So I guess there isn't too much time for Sara to catch her breath. We do have to assume that some time has passed since Hope was born. We see Sara in her Witchblade outfit. Looks like she got rid of some of her pregnancy weight. Also there's the appearance of Jackie. According to Phil Hester, about six months passes in between First Born and The Darkness #1, so it makes sense that some time has passed here also.
I have to admit it's a little weird with looking at the art. I was getting used to Stjepan Sejic's art. The cover...Dani looks...different. On the inside we have Rick Leonardi's pencils. I'm sure you're all familiar with his work. I just always think of Spider-Man 2099 when I see his art. I keep waiting to see Miguel swing into action. Check out the preview:

First Born epilogue issue! A new life has entered the world ... but that life, as well as the world, might be in more than danger than ever before. Following the shocking events of First Born#3, who will protect Sara's Pezzini's baby from agents of the warring Darkness and Angelus? Is rookie Witchblade bearer Dani Baptiste anywhere near ready for the job?
First Born architect Ron Marz (Ion, Samurai: Heaven And Earth) is joined in the final of three very special First Born tie-in issues by the veteran art team of Rick Leonardi (JLA, Superman Returns), Kevin Nowlan (Batman: Black & White, Superman v. Aliens) and cover artist Mike Mayhew (Vampirella, The Pulse).

More news on the upcoming birth.
Top Cow Productions announced today that the three Witchblade issues tying into this summer's First Born will each feature a special guest penciler. All three issues will feature the same cover artist and inker along with regular series writer, Ron Marz (Ion, Samurai: Heaven & Earth).
Witchblade #110, #111, and #112 will coincide with the release of this summer's Top Cow event, First Born. The tie in issues will feature expanded story lines that add depth to the experiences of former Witchblade bearer Sara Pezzini and current bearer Danielle Baptiste. Witchblade #110 will feature pencils by Matt Haley (Superman Returns, Who Wants To Be A Superhero?). Witchblade #111 will feature pencils by Stephen Sadowski (JSA, Red Sonja Annual). Witchblade #112 will feature pencils by Rick Leonardi (JLA Classified, Superman Returns). All three issues will feature inks by Kevin Nowlan (Batman: Black & White, Superman vs Aliens) and covers by Mike Mayhew (Vampirella, The Pulse) and
"We wanted to make these issues something special, since they tie in to a storyline in First Born that is really going to reshape the Top Cow universe. Getting pencilers like Matt Haley, Steve Sadowski and Rick Leonardi qualifies as pretty special in my book, but then to have Kevin Nowlan agree to ink all three ... well, that was beyond any of our wildest dreams," said writer Ron Marz, "These issues are going to be absolutely beautiful."
"The effects of First Born will be most readily felt in Witchblade, due to the nature of the story and the characters involved. To drive home the importance of the event, we decided to pull out all the stops and get three of the best pencilers in the game today in Haley, Sadowski and Leonardi. Not done there, we managed to sign up Kevin Nowlan, a fantastic artist in his own right and one of the all-time great inkers to tackle the whole arc. And Mike Mayhew... He knows a thing or two about how to grab attention with a cover," commented Rob Levin, Vice President of Editorial, "I couldn't be more pleased with the team we've assembled."
