Resurrection Man #1 - Pronounced Dead

@Barrbarr: I'm huge fan of the character and would say this pay complete justice to it, did it tell us what it was about? No it didn't and if you wanted to know more about him, look up I think it irrelevant to always give everything about the character in the first issue. It sort bug-down the story but to be honest this plot is sort of re-used in the original series an angel was after his soul

I had never even heard of this character but really liked this issue. The art and the writing was good, but whenever Resurrection Man wasn't talking and it was someone else, for some reason their dialogue was bad, but not the main characters. I love this concept and will definitely picking up the next issue. I was confused only by this bad review.

I disagree, I really loved the issue. And I read some stuff about resurrection man before but never really got in depth. Yet i was able to follow it all fine. True, at the end it was a little confusing, but that's what makes me want to pick up the next issue to see what's going on.

@Drakoji: yea I was thinking about that, but I haven't heard of the character before so I assumed that the reviewer was right. I think that this book is one of my top favorites of the relaunch, I can't wait for the next issue.

How can I take this review seriously when the reviewer can't even get the "Villain" right.

Pro tips: It's not an harpy, it's an Angel.

I really liked the story even though the main villain if it can be called that wasent that good

I felt the first series was the same. grreat idea..but it didnt reallyu go anyplace.

I do not get the sense of confusion. I did not know of Resurrection Man before the relaunch announcement and this issue was incredibly straight-forward to me.
 
Overall, I adored it. To me it felt like a really good Top Cow book. Had that style.

Normally I tend to think you guys are pretty nice to comics, and I usually grade them a little harsher than you guys. So when I saw that this got two stars I started to worry because I had just finished getting back from the store with it. But I have to say, I loved the heck out of this. I don't think you have to know anything about the old Resurrection Man series at all to get this, he dies, he comes back with new powers, and he's been doing it for a while, that's all you need to know honestly to get this book.

Just as Spider said, when the villain shows up, it goes downhill. It just got a bit cheesy for me

I feel kind of sad for this book, like Matt I know of but have never read anything of the character but it sounds like a great idea and at first a was really enjoying it, I thought the story was going to have a kind of "aeroplane mystery" about it but then the villain turns up and it all goes kinda down hill. On the other hand I am a really big fan of this style of art.

I try to look at individual comics as parts of longer stories, and when they show me characters that I don't know anything about I tend to assume that they will tell me more about them later.
