When MIND THE GAP started, Jim McCann stated that this would be a series of mysteries within mysteries. He has kept his word by throwing twists and turns at us left and right. Also as he has stated before, just when you think you're getting the answers, even more questions pop up.
The series started out with an attack against the lead character, Elle Peterssen. We had a huge list of suspects. Even those closest to her could be considered responsible for what had happened. With each issue, we started seeing more pieces to the puzzle. The shocker came last issue when we found out what happened the night she was attacked as well as what her story up until that point was. To top it off, Elle ended up dying. How do you continue a series after that? Obviously McCann has plenty more tricks up his sleeve.
This series has always featured great art and color as well. Rodin Esquejo's art fits the story and characters nicely. It's great that Esquejo's art has returned with the second act. I couldn't imagine these characters continuing with another artist. Jessica Kholinne's colors continue to do give the comic the unique feel it's had since the beginning.
This was another great issue. Do yourself a favor and catch up on the series if you aren't already.
Jim McCann has dropped some pretty big bombshells throughout this series. Despite the huge ending last issue (which marked the end of the first act), the story continues with even more questions being raised. This is a comic that will keep you guessing and thinking. McCann has carefully been crafting this story often throwing hints at different moments. Rodin Esquejo's art and Jessica Kholinne's colors are wonderful. It's great having a series like this that easily stands apart from other titles and keeps you hooked issue after issue.
