The Good

If you haven't noticed from my reviews by now, while I'm enjoying Fear Itself, I'm LOVING Flashpoint. Not only that, I'm loving the majority of the tie-ins, especially this one. Why? Because it's a really cool sidestory that doesn't necessarily have to do with the main event.

My favorite thing mainly about this issue is the blurring of the lines between good and evil. Yes, Citizen Cold is technically a good guy, but he has come secrets that make him one dastardly villain. At the same time, the Rogues don't seem as horrible as their Earth 1 counterparts. All they want is their revenge on the man who ruined their lives, Citizen Cold. Citizen Cold, on the other hand, is much more into hooking up with Iris West. Have I mentioned how scummy he is for a man people consider to be a hero?

The more Mirror Master, the better. He's one of my favorite DC villains, and he's underused and many times forgotten about. It's a shame. He's an incredibly powerful villain and I love the spin on him in this world. He can do nothing else but lead the Rogues, since he's trapped in the MirrorWorld.

Scott Kolins is doing a great job on this mini-series. I've always thought he was a great writer and artist when it came to the Justice Society of America and Flash and his Rogues. Even though it's a different universe, he keeps these characters very familiar, but changes them just enough to give the reader something new.

The Bad

It's not "bad," per se, but I keep asking myself, "how does this tie into the main storyline and will it affect the Earth 1 Universe?" Many of us are looking for these answers. I'm pretty sure some of the events from Flashpoint will carry over to the world of Earth 1, but all the set-up for the third issue is leaving me a bit impatient.

The Verdict

Do you like awesome tie-ins? I hope so because as you may have guessed, this is awesome. It's a lot of set-up for the last issue, and it moves incredibly fast, but it's a fun read, and if you're a Rogues fan, then you'll love the issue. You don't have to read this issue to understand elements of the main Flashpoint book, but don't let that stop you from reading it. I highly recommend this issue.

Mirror Master is also one of my favorite villains. I always buy anything starring the Rogues. It was the biggest reason I picked up the Flash series in the first place.

Awesome tie-ins, and one based around one of my all-time favorite Flash villains!
