I've never read any Top Cow series. This sounds and looks good though. I really like the art. Should I pick up some earlier trades or can I start here?

@longbowhunter:  You can start here. It's only issue 3. Pick up first 2 and you'll be set.

I´ve read issue # 1 and I was disappointed becauseof the art, so I dropped the title. Seems to me that the art hasn´t  changed!

I don't mind the art in this..you said it was similar to the omen but has a new spin on it....My worry is that it would be really predictable? I might pick it up though.

@Aspenite: I think the art by Nelson Blake II is superb. It's really clean and crisp. And even if the art was sub-par, the story is pretty good. I would recommend you give it another chance. This is one of my favourite titles right now.

I like Top Cow, my introduction to their books was Cyberforce and Hunter-Killer and more recently I subscribed to Velocity, Witchblade and Artifacts.  ( I love the art in all of these books).

What I discovered after my first issues of Witchblade and Artifacts is that I am hooked and I want more, so I went straight ahead and added The Darkness and Angelus to my subscriptions.

I had looked into Magdalena but decided I could do without it.  Geesh, I have so darn much God in my books right now.  So, I had drawn a line there, telling myself 5 Top Cow books is enough.

Now, though I am beginning to wonder if I should pull the trigger and pull Magdalena, it is afterall only issue #3 and it sounds like I should jump on board.

Hmmm.  I'm betting I will pick this series up.  :)  Thanks, Babs.

Ron Marz being involved is always a good thing.
Very nice explanation of the comic, and a great concise review.  Excellent.

Just recently got into Top Cow comics, And I like that Magdalena is just starting on a new run. It gives me a chance to get better acquainted with the story and characters. Thus far I gotta say I'm interested to see where it's headed.

How does this compare to the previous Magdalena series (in terms of continuity and quality)?
cbishopon Sept. 6, 2010 at 3:51 p.m.

Magdalena has been the most successful of the Warrior Nun Areala riffs, but they never seem to keep the book going long enough for me to get really interested in it.  A trade was finally released of some of the older stuff, so that was nice.

And yeah, I tried licking my elbow.  How the heck did he reach that?  I couldn't get that close. lol  (Oh, shut up!  Like you didn't try it too!  LOL)

Funny and awesome that you brought this up because I was thinking about getting into this. I am catholic so a supernatural catholic heroine sounds great for me but I don't like demons and vampires too much thou which is making me not sure. I know she is meant to have enemies like that but still. she is also sexy with a holy twist which I like this new breed of super heroine. velocity is the top cow comic I am getting at the moment which really caught my eye at the moment.
JosephLaforteon Sept. 6, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.
I love the Top Cow books, and Magdalena fits well into the universe. My least favorite series in the universe would have to be Witchblade which I guess is their flagship. Darkness own. End.
