The Topper was a weekly British humour comic for kids that launched in 1953 and ran until 1990, when it was meged with companion comic The Beezer. Created as a stablemate to the famous comics The Dandy and The Beano, it featured a similar mix of funny strips and adventure stories, and artwork from now-legendary artists like Dudley D. Watkins (original artist on The Dandy's Desperate Dan) on Mickey the Monkey, and David Law (original artist on The Beano's Dennis the Menace) drawing Beryl the Peril.
The Best of the Topper Annual collects some of the funniest strips from The Topper Book, which appeared annually as a Christmas treat from 1954 to 1994. Join Mickey the Monkey, Beryl the Peril, Nick Kelly, Julius Cheeser and many more comic pals for fun from across four decades of The Topper.
