Since the New 52 started up, a lot of folks have been wondering what happened to Renee Montoya. Her face appeared in BATWOMAN #1 as a fallen officer of the GCPD, but there's been nothing about her since then.

Well, she's coming back to DETECTIVE COMICS in the post-CONVERGENCE era. Announced at Uproxx, the solicit for DETECTIVE COMICS #41 says she'll be Harvey Bullock's new partner.

Following the events of “Endgame,” get ready to ride with the GCPD in a whole new city! Harvey Bullock is leading a Bat task force, but what are his duties, and can he be trusted? And what kind of welcome awaits his new partner, Renee Montoya?

Did Renee ever die or was she just out of commission? Regardless, fans of the character are going to be happy to see her grace DETECTIVE COMICS once again. Now, many will probably be wondering if she's going to be just an police officer or if once again, she'll have a connection to The Question.

We'll all have to wait until June 10th to find out when DETECTIVE COMICS #41 hits local comic shops.

Very happy to hear she's returning, I only hope they don't change her too much.

Is it me, or does that robot look a lot like the one on the cover of Batman #41 (with a bat symbol on it).

Its not Bruce in that Suit. Its simple a DC version of Robocop mixed with Batman. Not Bruce...

She died before Batwoman 01, she's on the GCPD Wall of Heroes.

Probably going to drop this series now. Buccelato and Manapul were doing a great job of telling their own stories (which is why I loved their run so much) and now they have to incorporate that God awful Iron-Bat-Man suit in their story with ties to Endgame and other Bat-titles.

@eivion: Exactly. Everyone assumed that it was a fallen officer wall. JH Williams mentioned that the panel was too small to fit any letters in to properly explain what the wall meant. I believe it was suppose to be for commendation.

This is just some great news.

Buccellato aand Manapul have been doing a fantastic job with this book. I think they will be perfect to handle Montoya.

If anyone is interested I hit Scott Snyder up on Twitter. Awesome guy, usually answers. Asked him if it was Bruce under there (I doubt it) and said Bruce wouldn't have a gun. He hit me right back and said "It's a batarang gun!" lol. Scott's so awesome. He even referred to it as the "robo bunny suit" which was hilarious. I trust in Scott, one of my absolute fav writers, but this is makin me nervous. And it affects all the Bat books. So that is Batman for at least 9 months. Ugh.

This is good to hear. I don't care much about the character, but I know a lot of people who were eagerly awaiting her first NEW 52 appearance..

I'm going to approach this with trepidation and little expectation. I'm not saying I was disappointed with Helena Bertinelli's return, but I had high hopes for her that didn't get realised. I won't make the same mistake with Renee.

Not cautiously optimistic, but more like consciously apprehensive.

I'm seriously curious as to what's the deal with Tengen Toppa Gurren Batman. Actually I'm curious as to why everyone is getting a new costume. Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Green Arrow and Batman? Don't get me wrong I love Wonder Woman's new look, same with Flash and Green Lantern but it's just strange.
