Jacqui Briggs is the daughter of Jax Briggs. She wields electronic gauntlets that fire various weapons and enhances her physical strength, in honor to her father. She is now part of Johnny Cage's Special Forces team, much to her father's concern.
Jax is a longtime soldier and a member of the US Special Forces. He was tasked with bringing in the Black Dragon Kano and ended up becoming involved with Raiden during the Outworld tournament of Mortal Kombat to save his partner Sonya Blade.
He is the stuck-up star of many B-movie action films critisised by many to be a "fake". He entered the Mortal Kombat tournament to prove them wrong and to show that he's the real deal and that he doesn't use wirework, special effects, or stunt-doubles.
Kotal K'etz was the Emperor of the Osh-Tekk realm and is Kotal Kahn's father.
The Aztec god of war, sun, and blood and the new emperor of Outworld. After seeing his homeland, Osh-Tekk, being conquered by Shao Kahn and Goro, he follows a rite of passage. While wandering around Earthrealm, he discovers the Mayan civilization. After years of acting as the Mayans' protector and mentor, only to see them perish because of his own teachings, Kahn returns to Outworld and eventually succeeds at conquering it.
Mileena is the "twin" sister of Kitana, however her jaws resemble that of a Tartkatan like Baraka.
Quan Chi is likely the most sinister character in the Mortal Kombat universe. A powerful sorcerer and demon from the Netherrealm, Quan Chi is a master manipulator. He is responsible for killing Scorpion's family, and blaming it on the original Sub-Zero, causing the two ninjas to murder each other. He then would resurrect them both as wraiths to serve him in hell. Quan Chi himself serves the fallen Elder God Shinnok, but not without having a hidden agenda of his own.
Raiden is the eternal God of Thunder and former protector of Earthrealm. After the second defeat of Shinnok, he ascended to the status of Elder God. As a god, he is used to thinking in terms of eternity rather than normal human life spans.
Rain is Edenian royalty who was orphaned during Shao Kahn's invasion. Rain was adopted and trained by the Edenian resistance where he became one of their greatest warriors. Rain betrayed the group to Shao Kahn for personal glory.
Shinnok is a fallen elder god and is the current ruler of the Netherealm.
Shujinko is the protagonist of Mortal Kombat Deception. He goes through a quest to search for six powerful amulets (Kamidogu), but is deceived by the Dragon King, Onaga. Shujinko used his powers that which he received from the Dragon King himself, and was able to undo the menace that was started by his own hands. Shujinko had indeed defeated Onaga, only to be killed with every other warrior in the final battle of Armageddon.
A US Special Forces agent, after a few run-ins with the Mortal Kombat tournament, Sonya Blade joined the Outworld Investigation Agency.
Vera Briggs is the wife of Jackson Briggs and mother of Jacqui Briggs.
