    Origin

Redfox was initially a barmaid working in an old tavern who had a long-standing contract with the owner. One day an adventurer named Sirana, an inveterate gambler, stayed at the Tavern and got to talking with Redfox. The world-weary Sirana was talked into having a card game with Redfox whereby if she lost, the two would swap places and Sirana would take on Redfox's contract, train Redfox to be a warrior and give her all of her equipment. Redfox won the match and Sirana honoured their agreement.

Later Redfox managed to rescue an ancient wizard named Estaque and as reward he gave her a special ring which gave her the ability to materialise a powerful magic sword.

    Creation

Redfox was created by a writer/artist who worked under the psuedonym of "Fox". The character started out in a game fanzine called Dragonlords as a pastiche of female barbarian characters such as Red Sonja and their odd sense of fashion (chain mail bikini's?).

She then went on to gain her own series with Harrier comics which lasted 10 issues before being transferred to Valkyrie Press where it lasted a further 10 issues before being ended.

    Powers

Redfox has the training that she received from Sirana, and also had a ring which allowed her to create a magic sword out of thin air. The sword worked against ethereal monsters immune to physical harm.
