Took me awhile sure, but let's review Red Robin #6 (I hope)

So this comic, yeah I missed #5 found #1 finally but couldn't find #5 of course anyway let's move on to the review. First off the artist for the comic has changed and usually that can be a little difficult but in this case it doesn't seem like it has changed too much it is very good and dynamic. Now about the story Chris Yost makes a good story, I like it because Red Robin has now joined (I think) the League of Assassins and puts a very nice twist on the story. The dialouge is very nice and real, all in all it's a good comic to read while next to the fire place while sipping a cup of tea (or in my case coca-cola)

Chris Yost is nothing, if not consistent.

This is still a very solid book and a solid issue.  Once again, could be spoiler-ish and I probably forgot something blatantly obvious and even more important in this review, but here we go!

There doesn't seem to be a lot going on here, but, uh, there really kind of is.  In the beginning, Tim narrates the continued story of Vitoria and her whereabouts.  This is interesting, because Tim and the reader don't really understand where her story line is going or where her allegiance lie (lay?), but it is something to keep in the back of your mind.  Tim continues on by giving some more background information on the League of Assassins (which he is working with). He compares them to a business.

We're told that, for the day, there are three hits going down by the League.  I really love how the art tells the story here, because you get a look at the "victims" on one side of the page and then a paralleled look with the Assassins.  Very nicely done.  Tim's narration continues here and there is some deep thinking going on.  Very Tim.  Very pragmatic.  Also, typical Tim humor (To the White Ghost, talking about the Expediter:  "Did I run over that guy's dog, or something?").  Speaking of The Expediter, that handle just makes me think of a UPS guy in brown shorts...

Then, you find out that Tim set up the hits to set up the Council of Spiders' assassins.  Needless to say, Tim is taking every death personally.  Very much like Bruce.   This is important to this issue, so be sure to piece it together for yourself.

Also, Ra's, who Tim can't read and still doesn't trust, gives Tim access to basically 'everything under the hood' of the League, which has a very, uh, Minority Report-esque technology to it, to me. It's pretty sweet. More League stuff is discussed here, and Tim realizes that Tam is being held as collateral (Duh, Timmy), so he better have a solid plan to back up any accusations he has (which he does; several in fact).

As pretty typical with Yost, he goes back and forth in time and place quite a bit.  Something to keep your eye on, I guess. You get a page of Hush, Mr. Fox and Vicky Vale (in Gotham, Presently) that... I'm not gonna lie, don't quite understand yet.  But it's there for you to ponder.  Hush looks more and more like Christian Bale to me, but anyway...

Now we get to the staged assassins and the fight.  The big one.  El Uno Grande.  Good art, here and again, some good insight from Tim.  I love how Yost writes Tim... have I said that, yet?  The fight goes on and ultimately Tim does manage to get him to surrender, but there is a slight twist at the end and... let's just say Tim's gonna have a lot of guilt later on.

Oh!  Also, this book gives you a bookmarker, of sorts, to let you piece in the events of Batman:Blackest Night!  I could question the placement of the events within this story with a few nit-picky details, but I'm just going to accept it, I think.

The art was very nice in this issue - much better then the first 5 issues and I can't wait to see more!  Thanks, Marcus To!  I liked a couple panels in this issue, my favorite being the one of Vitoria after she killed an assassin, "Assassins.  Heh."  Th art and words compliment each other perfectly and I'm really interested in how this femme fatale ties in to the bigger picture.

Also, I really liked this cover: Tim alone overlooking a nameless city.  Kind of reminds the reader that Tim is alone in his search and he's very far from home.

I docked half a star, because Tim's "search" for Bruce is seemingly non-existent in this issue.  I don't think he has lost sight of his reason for this exodus, but there was really no, "Bruce 'this' and Batman 'that'" in this issue.  And yeah, i'll admit it; I want Tim to find Bruce-clues so he can go back and rub it in Dick's face.
