    Who's essence again? 0

Alright, Red Hood again drags me back to review it, and all I can continue to say is that it's almost maddeningly uneven. Again, there's plenty of good to be found, but the bad really stands out.First of all, The issue started strong with Roy Harper, who proved himself to be far smarter than we would have thought (almost like an idiot savant kind of thing). And then they diminish those parts later by having him give a speech about how bad at history and biology he is, but he's still got great ai...

    An Interesting Essence 0

I was like many people who at first, was very concerned about the direction of this series. Having read all 7 issues now, I am slowly being won over. Book 7 is not a perfect book. Of all the books I found this one slightly uneven.First the good: I really appreciate how the team solved the issue of Crux. That was well done and the things the team found afterward felt natural. I like how far Jason's character has come so far. Using everything he has learned so far to keep him a step ahead of his e...

    Essence Strikes Back 0

THE GOOD: I really like the art in this issue and I think that the artist is a very good one and has become one of my favorite from seeing his working this series. I really like the paneling in this issue as well because of all the debris in the panel and it's just interesting and different then many other series. The story picks up for me. We get to see Essence return to Jason and he's put the pieces together and plans to ask her why she made him do all things he's done. I really like how they ...

The Essence of My Despair, Is The Lack Thereof The Aforementioned 0

Sigh. Look, it's better than the Green Lantern banner because I get the point of this one. It's not hyping a movie that didn't need extra hype, and its for a good cause. But it doesn't change the fact that the "We Can Be Heroes" banner is a huge detriment to the covers its on. Though this cover's pretty messy, so the banner doesn't really make things any worse. It's not a bad cover really, but its a pretty dull one.I just...Ok, let me say for starters that Kenneth Rocafort's art is still TOTALLY...

    Essentially Awesome. 0

The Good: Everything. It was a complete opposite from the light hearted issue, which was fantastic btw. The fight was awesome, the revelation of Essence was out of no where and I didn't expect it. There weren't any jokes in this issue (not that I don't mind them.) It was a serious issue all around, it made a huge turn of events, the fight was laid out well, the dialogue went great with it. Can't complain. The bad: Nothing.Recommended: Yes...

    When Did That Happen? 2

Red Hood and the Outlaws seems to be trying my patience, yet it entertains me at the same time. In Red Hood and the Outlaws #7 we learn a little more about Jason’s past with the All-Caste, and about his relationship with the mysterious woman Essence. This issue ends the current story arc and wraps it up decently enough with a few panels at the end to send it into the next story arc. This book is not without its flaws though, and several things remain unexplained like how does Jason now possess t...

Mayhap the death of their executioner 1

After the unexpectedly good previous issue, here the series descends back into the field of mediocrity.  It is not really that the story isn't engaging, it is just that it seems out of place.  With the return of Essence, Jason comes up against some truths which are hard for him to face, but in so doing the entire team is placed in danger as they battle mid-flight.  This was a development that didn't work especially well mostly because other than the previous issue there has not been a lot to tie...

    RHTO 7 0

WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS (I KNOW THERE IS A SUMMARY AT THE TOP BUT SOME PEOPLE MIGHT NOT WANNA READ ALL OF IT :P)Overview: I am one of the few who loved this series from the start and as i see more people liking red hood, the happier i feel. this issue is not the best one in the least but if you like the series than this issue contains some heavy info and concludes the arc on a solid note. I can never complain about Rocafort's art and i especially love the way he draws Essence. Ever since the f...
