Letting Go but Gaining More
The Good: This issue was absolutely fantastic. This issue had major revelations for the characters and the team itself. We finally see Jason let go of his ideas on revenge for the wrongs that were caused to him by Bruce and Joker completely. Jason has a new goal and it is for the greater good in the end of it but still showed that he isn't getting rid of the "outlaw" attitude due to commentary after his fight. Roy mans up and shows that he isn't one to be messed with when he wants to be and he is pretty crafty. Starfire showed a new side when showing thanks for Roy's kindness and she even had a tear in her eye for it showing she isn't so hardened or so distant from people. The fights were well done, artwork is awesome as usual and, better yet no corny college humor or cliche's but still in every issue so far there must be some laugh and I think Crux's commentary and facial expressions in the issue and Jason running from the townsfolk was funny and Roy had a funny comment near the beginning. It did all this while maintaining an air of serious stuff going on. It's a great issue and it leaves a question of what will they do with Crux. Will he join the team? Due to his humor it seems like he might fit in and he doesn't have much to live for besides one goal but maybe Jason can change it up and aim that goal towards the Untitled and other monsters. Who knows?
The Bad: I don't have anything bad to say but if I had to pick it would be too little of Roy. I expected the issue to be more geared towards Roy but I think since the issue tackled a few different things at once it makes up for it.
Better than the last? Yes
Recommended: Definitely.
