Troop Transporters were primarily used for patrols on Imperial occupied worlds. They were also used in search-and-destroy missions.
During the search for the stolen Death Star plans, search parties on Tatooine used them to travel across the desert. These troops captured and questioned a group of Jawas suspected of having the droids carrying the plans. They then killed them and destroyed their sandcrawler with the Transporter's cannon.
Many Transporters were later used by Orman Tagge on Tatooine during a test of his brother's latest invention, the Omega Frost.
