In "To Be a R.E.B.E.L.," part 3, Adam Strange plays peacemaker between Vril Dox's band of rebellious space cops and the entire Green Lantern Corps – and negotiations aren't going well at all. Let's hope Lobo can stay on his best behavior . . .yeah, right!

John Stewart has been sent to Rann to discuss with Vril Dox the current situation in the Vega system. All of Rann has assembled to see his arrivial. After a quick exchange of pleasentries John, Virl and Adam Strange meet behind closed doors, where John drops the niceities and gets real with Vril. He tell the REBEL leader that the Guardian are not happy with whats going on in sector 2828 and they are blaming Virl and his REBEL group.

Virl counters with the information that Citadel is planning on blowing up Vega, the sun that the sector is named after. Instead of dealing with it himself John sends Altin and Gorius, the rookie lanterns in charge of the sector. They easliy take care of the Citadel but have some trouble with the bomb. Lucky Gorius figures out a way to make it smaller and the two surrive and save the system.

The two rookies are promoted to full fledge green lanterns, and John leaves Virl with a word of warning. Although John can't prove Virl was behind the potential attack he'd be watched. It is later revealed that Virl did have his son, Lyrl, design the bomb but he had planned on the Green Lanterns fail and REBEL come to the rescue, as John had predicted.

Meanwhile on Psion, Starro makes his return.
