    The Robotech Defense Force was newly created in response to the crash landing of the SDF-1 and subsequent discovery of robotechnology. Utilizing a variety of veritech (or transformable) weapons the RDF replaced conventional military forces and was instrumental in winning the First Robotech War.

    I have a question about the SDF-1

    According to the anime, cartoon show, the comics, and the novels I'm sure that it was stated that the SDF-1 contained the surviving population of Macross Island when the SDF-1 accidentlly transported itself and the island to Pluto's orbit.

    The population was stated to be about 70,000 people.

    Was the SDF-1 really big enough to hold that many people?

    Not only that, was it really beg enought to contain that many people and allow them to live the lifestyle that appeared to be the typical lifestyle of people living in a crowed city?

    They had a concert hall. They had buildings, they had cars and trucks.
