This was an Awesome review,good job LOL, I always wanted to know what they were doing during this.
Hope to add this issue along my other "Blackest Night" tie-ins. P.S. I like how Rays room as a kid was all indigo
GO INDIGO!! LOL its my Corps ^_^ <O> (sideways)
One thing I don't quite get. If part of Palmer's motivations is to find love and companionship, why wasn't he brought into the Star Sapphires? I know that they are primarily all female(from what I remember), but they are just being deputized for the time being, right?
It just feels far too cliche that Wonder Woman was made the new Star Sapphire. When has her motivations ever been about some over powering need for love? If the Star Sapphire rings are suppose to fill a hole in the user's heart. What hole is there in Wonder Woman's heart?
It's a good review. It's always nice to learn how well these stories fill into the over all arc. Knowing if it's helpful reading or just filler. Especially with the price of all these books.
I'd like to think of this as Blackest Night #6.51 because it does have an important note for BN. Not crucial, but it does tie-in well.
I pretty much agreed with your review, G-Man. Surprised by it is exactly how I felt. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt with him being a featured player, but the more I read...the more I enjoy Ray Palmer. I'd be interested to see what happens with him post-Blackest Night. 4.5/5 is a good score for the issue.
Loved this issue!! I love the Atom. Great issue, really makes me want an Atom series!
I think this issue was important to the Blackest Night series because of how the Atom helps Indigo-1. But he's not going to stay an Indigo Lantern forever, the deputy lanterns will only be lanterns for 24 hours.
I used to read the Atom's comics when I was a kid and I liked him then but of course he fell off after awhile so I'm glad he's getting some love right now.
Again, I agree with this score. Just like Green Lantern #50, this book helped fill the void of the January skip month for the main series.
G-Man: I think the Hal-as-Parallax situation will resolve itself in GL #51 and not be part of Blackest Night #7. It's too late in the main series for them to introduce that element with no set-up or foreshadowing and no real dramatic reveal since it happened in another book.
@Bandito:
Given that GL 51 and GLC 45 ship a week before BN 7, I think that's pretty good guess.
Regardless, I still hope the emotional embodiments/avatars factor into the end somehow.
Loves this issue. A real tribute to the whole story of the Atom while still setting the stage for the future. Ray has come to terms with the death of Jean just like John Steward has come to terms with his failing to save a planet. With those things out of the way they can only move on now
