Anyone else think this is what Raven will look like? (note that its was done by the RH&O artist and not Booth, but still has traces of Raven's old costume with the bird-like features and the stone on her boot)
I was thinking the helmet actually makes her look like the stygnian witches from the 2010 Clash of the Titans remake.
And really, out of all her old costume features, I had hoped the cape and hood would survive...since I kinda consider it as much as part of her image as Supermans symbol and Batman's cape and cowl.
@Afro_Warrior: Yes, but an important note is that (if you have been following/spying on Booth's Twitter) Booth is actually not going to be drawing #8, the issue Raven is suspected to début in. (But remember Azar was actually mentioned in Hood #1)
If that's the case, then i could definitely see that being Raven's new design. I'm not a great fan of the new cowl, and hope it's an old design, but apart from that i think i could grow to like it.
@Afro_Warrior: Actually I was wondering if besides v collars, armor and shoulderpads...are those kind of helmets another trend in the DCnU? Mother Machine is also sporting one of those, eye-less helmets.
I'm not reading Blackhawks so i don't really have any context for what's going on with her, so it could be a possibility. It could just be a case of Lobdell want's a really unique design to as a way of highlighting how his Raven is different from the old one.
I haven't read the solicits for the next few Titans issues, but is it possible that Raven is being controlled by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. through that hood? We know they've been experimenting with the heroes they've captured (Solstice's new look is the perfect example of that). So maybe the cowl is a new take on the bog standard control helmets that are used in comics.
@Afro_Warrior: It's been in the previews, but basically Mother Machine is also sporting one of those helmets without eyes while showing off her mouth and cheeks, only more bulky than this one. But it's a good guess, but I consider it unlikely it's a 'control helmet', since it has no event signs of being tech-based and NOWHERE has no displayed any capabilites in other fields than tech and genetics, also...usually when people can control psychics, they usually strap them down and have them work from the depths of a bunker of some-kind, in case they ever get loose.
...stray thought; perhaps Raven is a Mother Machine kind of person NOWHERE think they are in control of, but she is actually where she wants to be and is the one providing Fairchild and Rose with telepathy?
I didn't describe that right. By control helmet i meant a way for their telepath, to control Raven. It would act as a way of focusing on Raven and allow for greater control. Yeh they usually strap down psychics, but we know the Titans are going to assault Nowhere's headquarters, once that happens they may be forced to temporarily 'free' Raven and use her to take them on.
Wasn't Rose the one using the telepathy? She forces her way into Farichild's mind .
@spiderbat87: Perhaps, perhaps not, the pictures its not with alot of details or concrete facts (Raven could only be the Soul-self attacking the person in the front for all we know), girl with the tatoo...no idea, but note the images aren't string-connected like the others, save that they are next to each other (could be a miscolored Solstice and mom actually or a simple coincidence).
@Afro_Warrior: Well I was kinda thinking Raven was strapped down somewhere by her captors, unknown to Nowhere she is fully aware and is providing the telepathic abilities like the Martian Manhunter did for the Justice League (though I cant remember if he had to be part of the conversation for it to work or not).
It looks like she's skinned a giant bird and is wearing it as her costume. I see the reboot hasn't been kind to everyone if that is Raven's new costume redesign.

@spiderbat87: Their may be one. Picture 9 could be an early design for Helspont. The rest are new characters (pic: 8,2 and 3) or redesigns of old ones (pic:1,5,6 and 7)

No, please no. I would rather see Raven wearing some type of sexy suit than whatever that thing is because it really does look like she killed a giant bird and wore it as a costume.
Hopefully, this is not going to be the final design for Raven. And I do definitely hope that when Raven shows up, she still have her cloak.

honestly this would be cool if it was dove's costume but it reminds me too much of a power ranger's villain
That's actually pretty cool. After thinking it over for a while, I've come to the conclusion that it could end up working very well for her. Imagine her soul-self spreading its wings above her, and you've got a really creepy image…perfect for expressing her demonic heritage, or just scaring the heck out of villains. It also kind of indicates the emotional distance she has to keep by fully masking her eyes.
Now, I'm not even a huge Raven fan, but I think this might be one of the better redesigns of the New 52.
@Icarusflies: What was it they said? "The eyes are the windows to the soul?" I can follow you on that line...but honestly i preferred the old school tricks with the light and the shadows that Perez did with her hood, mirroring what's always been done with the Phantom Stranger and the Spectre; Hood/Hat was up/on and you couldn't see most of their faces making it double as a mask (if an ineffectual one). Also I'm afraid to say this but your suggestion actually made me think of her as a sort of robot or a 'soulless-monster' that will spend most of her time pretending to be Brainiac (mainly the animated version), minus the data-mining and world destroying.
Hmm, with some more spying on Booth's twa(i)tter account it appears Raven was meant to appear in #8 or #9 but it has been pushed back for unstated reasons (personally suspect it has to do with the LL and Ravagers stuff).
I like this look a lot and I agree with Icarusflies ...The costume is a good representation of her demonic heritage...Just think how badass she would look in the costume once she lets loose with her powers...
