Rambo
Character » Rambo appears in 67 issues.
Serving as a Green Beret, John Rambo fought in Vietnam and experienced the horrors of war firsthand. Returning to the United States with all of his teammates dead and pervaded with survivor's guilt, Rambo found that he could not adopt to a civilian life.
Rambo 5: Rambo Versus Supersoldiers?
Rambo is coming back to theaters. Pre-production has started and it looks like Rambo may be facing a different sort of adventure this time around. According to Ain't It Cool News after they spoke with Sylvester Stallone, the movie will be set in the Pacific Northwest.
What's happening this time around is a secret U.S. Military installation is doing experiments on soldiers to unlock their primal essence. The soldiers become pure rage and intelligence. Stallone described them as a nightmare of pure rage, before men became human, when they were inhuman. Rambo will be fighting against men that are feral beasts that have "absolute cunning and intelligence and a will to survive" that can only be matched by Rambo's.
The experiments seem to be a success but too much so. When things get out of control, Rambo is called in to lead a blacks op squad to hunt and gather them all up.
Stallone also wanted to make it clear that he wasn't going to be fighting "Universal Soldier" type supersoldiers.
I'm not sure what to think of this next chapter in Rambo's life. I still haven't seen his last adventure. Rambo fighting these scientific experiments is something new. Also, we're seeing Rambo being the hunter rather than the hunted. It seems that this could either really work as a Rambo movie or it could turn out a bit cheesy.
What are your thoughts about this? Are you a Rambo fan? Do you like the idea of Rambo hunting these savage and intelligent experiments?
this sounds like its gonna suck but then rambo films while cool have never been to well written there usually just mindless entertainment
Rambo VS. The Island of Dr. Monroe?
I'm a huge Rambo fan, but this sounds like a bad idea. Rambo has always been military action flicks, adding some strange sci-fi element just does not make sense. Also, the last movie had the perfect ending for Rambo. It brought the character to a good place after all he had been through, I say leave him there.

"And miss the opportunity to milk out just a couple of more bucks at the cost of destroying another great franchise? Not gonna happen.
For the love of Co Bao!! Enough is enough.
The most surprising thing that came to me out of this news. I didn't even know there was a Rambo IV. Though the franchise does seem to be on an I.V.
The first two had a really deep relevance behind the Vietnam conflict and the way war vets were treated, in Rambo I, and the stat of the P.O.W. investigations, in Rambo II.
Someone make John Rambo a general already so he can just fade away.
"Isn't about time for Rambo Vs Retirement? "
Or Rambo Vs. Urinary Incontinence, maybe?
didnt see the last one, but alot of people even non-Rambo fans tell me he did a really great job.
im more a fan of seeing actors/actresses do something differant, but some people do best in
typecast roles.if i could get a sequel out of this guy it would be a new Cobra movie.
I hope School boy returns he was my favorite other than Rambo in the last movie.
And sounds interesting to see Rambo fighting a bunch of Captain Americas
hmmm...rambo is one of these movie you expect to be good with there fancy explosions and someone geting there throat slit but just disapoint...(i loved first blood though)
Rambo 4 was great, if you've not seen it you will be surprised. Good story, not cheesy, plenty of action, blood, guts and explosions. Plenty of suspenseful and surprise moments. Rambo kicks ass. It received good reviews from critics and movie goers.
His last Rocky movie received rave reviews from critics and movie goers. Yes, some of his movies were over the top, no one is perfect. The man is still a box office success.
This idea on the surface sounds kind of suspect I admit but I am certain I will see it. For a man his age to be in the shape he is and still doing movies--people are just jealous. Go Stallone!
all the rambo movies have been absolutely pathetic and this just sounds even worse. I mean rambo fighting a bunch of supersoldiers this is definitely going to be a flop.
Sure beats him killing regular people, it would be neat to see him brutalize or kill a werewolf like creature
Super Soldiers?
HOT DAWG I'M IN!
Just please, no similar scenes like that of the village massacres from Rambo 4...
I could barley stomach those...

Agreed - Stallone is just an all around athlete that just knows how to stay in tip top shape. In a way he's like a real life Batman - like Dark Knight Returns / Batman Beyond Batman type. So GO STALLONE!!!
My only problem is that I don't know if it's a good idea to bring in a fictional type situation. When he made Rambo deal with realistic problems that are going on in Burma to maybe feral type super soldiers. So it could all be hear say for all we know.
The last Rambo was an ok movie for a 60-year old who can't seem to let it go. Of course the same thing could be said for the last Rocky, too.
I am not on the Stallone haters. In fact i like most of his films. (i loved Oscar).
And i do still enjoy Rambo. I see it no matter the plot but it seems a bit to much Si-Fi like for me.
The last film had a good end and it seems off to do another one. But i'll be there opening weekend none the less.
