Jean-Luc Picard visisted this planet many years before becoming the captain of the Enterprise. He was in attendance when the planet's Primarch (ruler) held his Death Celebration. The Death Celebration is a grand occasion honoring an important figure's imminent death. During the first two issues of the DC ongoing series, the Enterprise was at Raimon so that Picard could honor the invitation he recieved to attend the Death Celebration of the planet's current Primarch, the son of the Primarch Picard had previously met. Lutina Gaspadral is the heir to the throne as the Primarch's daughter. She also has a special bond with Picard from his earlier visit despite her being only five years old. Picard and Riker are forced to stay longer than anticipated when the Primarch is murdered and Picard and Tardol (the Primarch's chief political rival) are the prime suspects.
