Pietro Maximoff is a mutant who's X-gene grants him the ability to travel at speeds far beyond the average human. He is the son of Magneto, and twin brother of the Scarlet Witch and half-brother of Polaris. He is a reformed X-Men villain and was once an Avenger.

Who is the fastest marve speedster?

For years I've been wondering in the marvel mainstream who is the fastest.

But I mean the speedsters, not light speeders (no silver surfer, nova, quasar).

that does include sentry though because he can move fast on land.

I think its quicksilver because he was the first (silver age), northstar 2nd and speed probubly 3rd, but he is youngest give him time.

Northstar. He tops out around Mach 10.

Well I'm not sure what to tell you, other than that is completely erroneous. He could only ever theoretically reach 99% of light speed, and he would die well before he could reach a fraction of it.

I looked further into it and I wasn't right about light speed but you weren't right about Mach 10 either.That was his speed when he first appeared.

no seriously, i know its BS too but thats why we have fiction. what would we be today without it, imagination, creation, expansion. We have been set blockades never thought to be passed and yet we've done it so many times. Mach 1, Space travel, hell even "Flying", so don't go ahead and think things that aren't possible now, won't be possible tomorrow.

This is from the current Marvel Universe page,

"As a side effect of partially robbing his molecules of their atomic motion, the binding forces within and between the molecules increase which enhances the sheer toughness of Northstar’s entire body. This effect gives his skin enough durability to withstand speeds up to at least Mach 10 without injury. Northstar can also vary the rate of acceleration of his molecules to release a cascade of photons as bright as a lighthouse beacon."

The older Marvel handbooks confirmed that although he could feasibly reach 99% of light speed, he was limited to a much lower speed (mach 10 is quoted as this was the speed he could still breath at) as the structural reinformcement of his body does not rise at the same rate as the friactional and environmental forces that his body encounters flying in the atmosphere.

i think northstar is the fastest and he can reach light speed but he cannot withstand speed above mach 10

Is theoretically for Northstar to achieve light speeds, but he has never done that before and he would die if he does. And since Isotope E Pietro is stated that he has no true limits on his speed, many sources says he can run AT LEAST Match 5 (others say 4), so if he wants to, he might be able to run even faster, but here's the catch, Does he really need to run faster than that? How many evil characters in Marvel can surpass at least the speed of sound and race him?. To me, Marvel is just keeping his true speed in secret. To me, he can run at speed of light if he needs to, and i bet he will do eventually.
