Master Qui-Gon Jinn is an experienced Jedi who has proven his value to the leadership of the Jedi Order in many important missions and difficult negotiations.

He was Obi-Wan Kenobi 's master, and for a short period of time was also Anakin's master, if it weren't for his untimely death at the hands of Darth Maul on Naboo.

He was considered to be once a Gray Jedi. In his maturity, however, he remains as restless as he was in his youth. When Qui-Gon encounters young Anakin Solo on the Outer Rim desert world of Tatooine, the Jedi is deeply struck by an unshakeable sense that the boy is part of the galaxy's destiny. In boldly champoining the cause of Anakin, Qui-Gon sets in motion momentous events that will ultimately bring balance to the Force - but not without great cost. As they were leaving Tatooine, Qui Gon was met by a mysterious Sith Lord known as Darth Maul. They fought eachother in the desert, but due to the lack of Hydration and drive, Qui Gon was forced to retreat onto the ship that they had finally fixed on Tatoooine. But, more importantly than the fixed ship, was the boy he had found. On Tatooine, of all places, he found a boy with a higher medichlorian count than Yoda.

He and Obi-Wan Kenobi fought bravely in the battle ship hanger, eventually leading to the inner constructs of the building in the middle of the war. They also were the only ones there at the time and made sure that everyone else including Anakin, his crush and princess Padme Amidala, were to leave. Anakin took refuge in the pilot seat of a ship that began moving on auto pilot once he got in it. With R2-D2 at his side (or literally at his front of the ship) they began flying outward into space while the powerful Jedi and Sith fought to the end of there lives. Qui Gon died During the battle While his former padawan was helplessly watching. While Qui Gon Jinn was on the ground Obi wan kenobi took over and killed the sith lord.

Lightsaber

Following the custom of his day, Qui-Gon has built a lightsabre with a highly elaborate design. Multiple small power cells are stored in the scalloped handgrip and microscopic circuitry governs the nature of the energy blade. Simpler lightsabre designs, built outside the halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, typically use a single large power cell inside a solid handgrip.

Holoprojector

One of the utility devices that Qui-Gon carries is a small Holoprojector. This can be tuned with a comlink to carry a hologram transmission for face-to-face contact, or it can be used as an independent image recorder and projector.

Comlink

Qui-Gon's miniature comlink allows him to keep in touch with Obi-Wan Kenobi when the two operate separately. It features complex security devices to prevent unauthorized interception and is unabelled to thwart useby non-Jedi. a silence projector lends privacy to conversations and helps Qui-Gon maintain stealth in the field.

Fighting Style

Qui Gon uses the same fightning style as master Yoda, known as Ataru, that requires wide open spaces to move with deadly strikes, and is over all the best style if the amount of space can be taken care of. The simple reason that Darth Maul's Juuyo was able to defeat Qui Gon was because of the small spaces, and that Qui Gon had to watch out for his current Padawan at the time, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was being thrashed around by the powerful Sith lord.

Ataru is the Fourth (IV) form of the Seven Lightsaber styles taught to Jedi.
