Can't say that I've ever read this  series. But I always hear good things about it.

They should get Angelina Jolie to play Tara.    

Never heard of this before, but it seems like it could make an awesome movie. :) So yeah, I'll definately see it.

So, I think Emily should play the main character. 
She is a true, British actress. Great at her job and would look sexy as a blonde.

Amazing series.  The two novels that Rucka wrote continuing the books are good, too.  She is not at all just a female version of Bond, though.  Totally different mood.  The series isn't your usual espionage fiction, but instead focuses on the logistics side back home, as well as the political in-battles involved with a controversial mission within the British equivalent of the State Department, and the relationship with allied intelligence agencies, especially the C.I.A. It is extremely smart and nuanced and, while there is plenty of action, those pages are usually not the truly compelling part of any individual issue.  
 
Babs, as a political science major, I really, really think you would appreciate and enjoy this series (longtime lurker, and I think I have a handle on your taste).  Pick up the trade volumes!!!  And, if you like it, definitely watch the DVD's of  old British TV series that inspired it, The Sandbaggers.  They are genuine gems.

Every actress at some point needs a chance to cut her teeth on taking the major seat in a movie and not always be a supportive or background character. Look at all the people we were introduced to in the Lord of the Rings films. That series was really Orlando Blooms first real big movie.
 
Look at movies like Harry Potter. The production company originally wanted Haley Joel Osment to take on Harry. Instead they picked a child no one had ever heard of. The irony is that one of the most popular actors in that series, such as Alan Rickman (love his work), plays more supportive roles. Yes, his role is important to the over all plot of the series, but in the movies you often hardly see him.
 
Would you want Wonder Woman or Bat Girl to be played by the most popular actress of the time, or the actress that can play the role the best, even if you had never heard of her before? The most "popular" choice right now would be Megan Fox, and that would just be wrong. "

also - Rucka has alluded that the blond British agent in his less excellent, but still impressive series WhiteOut (movie coming soon) is actually also Chase, using an alias.

I would rather see a relative unknown actress land the role than another typical Angelina Jolie/Megan Fox/popular soap-star.   
 
After all, Oni created indie comics which made big names out of writers & artists who no-one had heard of at the time.  So it seems fitting that a film based on an Oni comic should take someone who is unknown and make a big star out of them too.

Queen ans Country is amazing, the comics and the novels.  What makes them so great is that Rucka A) really writes great female leads, B) the series is realistic with both spycraft and situations. The human element is everything here.
 
If you have not read these yet get your butt to a comic store NOW.
 
Who ever gets cast needs to be willing to look beat and worn the F*&% out, because Tara is usually in that state in the field.

I like Angelina and Jessica Alba. They have shown themselves to be more then just sex pots. They do acting in movies. Angelina was perfect for Lara Croft. The second movie wasn't too good though. The way Robert Downey Jr. feels perfect for Tony Stark and Sherlock Holmes. I just felt that I may have come across a tad rude to what Babs was trying to say. I wouldn't want to come across as disrespectful. "

Just as well, perhaps, considering how the film adaptation of Whiteout gutted what made the comic special (for crap's sake they wrote out one of the main characters because "O noes, dudes won't go see a flick with two female leads" :P)
