I know a lot of people hate Stark in this thread, but it is not like he broke the law. Technically, speaking the heroes on Caps side were breaking the law by going againts the United States government and resisting arrest. Now realistically speaking the initiative wasn't awful. It had some good points and would of been a good law except for 3 or 4 major issues.

saving everyone from what?  if i were to take away  ppl's guns and cars and said it was  to save their lives, they would fight me tooth and nails... just because something is legal doesnt mean its the morally right thing to do.

tony 's stance was political not morally motivated unlike cap's position, big difference...  also if you read some of my earlier comments you would know that i agree with locking up heroes for vigilantism if caught, for various other reason then simply not registering.

I explained already. Did you read any of Tony's dialogue in Civil War?

Tony was trying to keep the American Government off the superhero community and keep the people they are trying to save, the American public..believing they are the heroes.Before Stamford,heroes did whatever they wanted.His gripe about that was how are people supposed to trust them when they have people they don't know running around as costumed heroes with no consequence for their actions? There's more too it but you get the gist.Tony explained all of this to Captain America before they fought.

  saw a scan of black cat wanting to be a burglar again. it got me wondering why frank hasnt gone after her before. she is a known thief criminal regardless of helping spidey and other heroes from time to time.
