which PUNISHER series should I read ?

I would like to read some Punisher stuff. Which series would you guys recommend ? The art should be cool too of course :)

Punisher Max, Marvel Knights - Punisher ( garth ennis) and the new series by Greg Rucka.

Garth Ennis's run was good. Greg Rucka's run is amazing.

I'm not a big fan of Ennis. I loved his Battlefields comic and enjoyed his Punisher run, but other than that I find him to be over and unnecessarily violent and quite predictable and cliche. Totally agree with you on Rucka though.

The current Greg Rucka run on the Punisher is the only Punisher comic book I have ever read and it is great.

anything Garth Ennis did and the current series and the original 5 part limited story. Avoid the Rick Remender series was disappointing

@Jonny_Anonymous: I didn't read anything that says that it will be cancelled. They will find another writer to the Punisher series. ( I hope)

@johnkmccubbin91: The only thing that Remender's messed up was Franken Castle arc. All the Dark Reign arc was very entertaining.

His current run is great, you can just hop in now for the monthly issues.

@Jonny_Anonymous: It's official, they are cancelling the current title, as Greg Rucka said in the interview to IGN they will integrate the Punisher in a team.

I've never read Remender's run. But I liked Rucka's run more than Ennis's.

This sucks, Punisher was one of the most critically acclaimed series Marvel has right now. I'm so bummed......

oh now I`m really sad about the cancellation :( I would love to read ennis` stuff but It really is a little bit expensive. I`ll probably buy Ruckas run and a few max comic books from ennis. which max story arc from Ennis would you recommend ? ( It should be a good jumping on point if possible )

I heard War Journal is good, i haven't read it personally tho. I'm looking for Punisher stories too.

I bought the first 2 trades from the Garth Ennis MAX comics and war journal is in the first one. It is reallly great ! I definetly recomment it !
