My take on Punisher War Journal #14
The art in the last couple of issues has been appropriately over the top as established by Ariel Olivetti for this book, but i do miss his style. But on to the story.
I said in my last review that Kraven came across as "puts the lotion on it's skin" creepy, and it really showed this issue.
I'm not sure what's going through this guy's head, but its not pleasant. It's this under current of danger that grounds the humor of the book(the hot dog scene was great).
The game is on, and Frank may be in over his head. The issue ends in a situation where i'm thinking, "oh damn, he's screwed."
That's the way the second part of a three parter SHOULD end. Fraction is a wiley writer who knows and writes his strengths. That's my take.
