doesnt bother me. she was both anyways, so its sort of an un-retcon far as i see it. besides, shes gained and lost alot more weird powers than just that ( reality warp immunity for example ) many, many, many times. the only constant for Betsy seems to be she doesnt have a constant. other than maybe butterflies.

I actually thought that yesterday when I saw the latest cover to Uncanny X-Men. It was the positioning of Emma & Betsy either side of Cyclops... it seemed symbolic. But then again, it was drawn by Greg Land who did the cover for the anti-climactic Uncanny #511 which had bum all to do with the actual plot. So who knows...
The handling of the Phoenix force is so annoying - the Phoenix and Jean Grey have bonded and are as one. The Phoenix and Jean Grey need each otjer to survive. Writer's should remember this when the finally resurrect Jeanie. Psylocke cannot replace Jean as she is irreplaceable - as is Psylocke. I hope the writters have plans to bring back Psylockes telepathy also as she doesn't suit being telekinetic. Emma Frost has relly grown on me and i hope she has many stories to come even when Jean returns.
Psylocke is her own character...I like her with her telepathy and her Crimson Dawn power's (ability to travel and hide in shadows). .. the telekinetic powers are annoying for me...doesn't really make her sexy but just one of those characters.
Anyway, I hope the mini-series flesh her up better and gives her more depth.
I didn't really like it when they started adding extra powers to her. Well, if I'm completely honest I didn't like that they messed her about with the body swap, either. Suddenly being telepathic wasn't good enough. She had to be a ninja too. Then when being a ninja wasn't enough, she had to melt in & out of shadows. Then when that got boring (which was pretty quickly) it was a complete power swap with Jean. After that... I lose track, between her dying, the Exiles, resurrected with immunity to manipulation, being manipulated, and being both a tepe and a teke...
Really, was it that bad when she was a just good old fashioned telepath? :(
I like the idea of Psylocke's powers merging tp and tk...just not in a way that makes her Jean Grey with a purple desktop theme.
Personally, I'd love to see her TK limited to psychic constructs (knife, katana, etc), so she can do physical damage when she runs across the inevitable "Immune to telepathy" bad guy. For the rest of it, butterfly psychic all the way. ^_^ Just MHO.
Then again, I also liked the random precog flashes for added mind-screwery.
@acaipapaya: I dont think it has been demonstrated on that type of a level...Although it has been stated that she has raw power but lacks fine motor control...like when she first got it she could not pick up a dime but could throw Sabretooth all over the place

I miss her puffy sleeves SOOOO hard.
She was so nice, and well-dressed. She made me believe that superheroes could wear pink without having to call on the power of a "pteradactyl" and looking like an alien that gets sparkly effects whenever she's slashed with a plastic sword.
I don't think the realize just how unique she is because of the butterfly either. She could be an exact clone of a psychic, and yet, be set apart because of her butterfly. Also, I hate her telekinesis, because it takes away from her natural ninja skills, although I hate that she's a straight brawler all the time.
It's still not too late. After the whole "sisterhood" arc, I am convinced that they can do just about anything that they want. Give her her tp back, and the fashion sense of her original body (since they decided to ruin it for us, they could at least return the clothes), and make her lose her tk due to complications from aspartame.
All I want is a costume that makes sense to her character. You will never seen me complain about Storm's outfits, because she never wears anything that's normal. But when it comes to characters with good fashion taste, being turned into thong-wearing ninjas just for the sake of those sick little boys with an asian fetish, I tend to get pissed off.

I dont see why her outfit its are so limited...although Im not gonna lie...I did like the variation in X-Treme X-Men. But seriously...its clear they just dont know what to do with her lol
To be honest, super hero fashion is fairly limited. Some of them don't even have civilian clothing! And Cyclops has been wearing variations of that blue whole-body condom since he was in his teens ;)
Considering Betsy used to be a fashion model, she doesn't seem to have any care for what she wears. I know the spandex outfits are sexy and glamourous, but they're ridiculous in terms of stealth and protection. It's no wonder that when she first joined the X-Men she had that armour created for her, but even that was a clunky purple suit of amour... it provided protection, but what would you think if you saw someone wearing that? But since turning her into a ninja, artists have taken the easy wayout and given her a dark purple bathing suit...
I remember when Charlotte Jones was embarrased to wear the traditional blue/black & gold outfit. Imagine how she would have felt if she'd been forced to wear one of Betsy's hand-me-downs!
OMG XK i was just about to bring up Elisabeth's runway days and how she switched to the armored cloak because she felt she without her tp she was defenseless. I guess now she feels she's invulnerable... you'd think dying would make her change into something new.

i like psylocke a lot but TP and TK... can anyone say Jean Grey. its a too common powerset nowadays it used to just be a handfull of TP AND TK but now it seems like any Telepath has TK who next Emma Frost ?
Not that I know of, both of them could beat one another telepathy wise, but Psylocke's telekinesis is much more stronger than Jean's. Although, it'd have to be Jean revived, figuring Psylocke originally got her telekinesis fromJean.
