Suicide Squad is going to have to beef up in order to take on the Justice League. Let's say Harley gets replaced with Poison Ivy, or Bane, and Diablo gets resurrected, and maybe they could have a good fight. Diablo vs Aquaman?

@gmanfromheck Do you have any idea why critics wouldn't like this?

Apart from its very muddled pacing, something that causes critics to shoot down a film like few other things, there is the simple fact that its a cheesy, summer blockbuster. Critics do not like these vehicles, and in their defense, are probably forced to review far too many of them to appreciate when one is trying something different.

I liked the film fine, but even I have to admit it was more of a setup for the next big thing than its own complete film. It tried to be a Guardians of the Galaxy kind of film, but felt more like the Wolverine movie (the not so terrible one) just a little too generic for its own good. I would have left the commandos completely out of the film, just give us pyschos going at it the whole time, we don't want to hear about their handlers. When the Squad is front and center the movie's great! But a bunch of commando movie cliches and unnecessary exposition keep it from being the crazy ride I was hoping for.

@zur_en_arrh: You must have a vendetta against common sense if you believe that nonsense. Lmfao. I mean it's astounding the lengths people will go to justify a DC film which is critically panned.

*shrugs* to each their own, all I'm saying is, professional critics have been predicting the demise (and joyously clamoring for it) since the original Avengers, and now they quickly pull every non MCU movie out and tear it a new one, blaming the genre for cheapening the quality of the Wester film. These claims are not hard to find read any Vanity Fair article, Rogerebert.com review or a good portion of Rotten Tomatoes "professional" reviews the stigma is there and it is immediately slapped on any non MCU film.

I don't think BVS or Suicide Squad need to be "justified" their very existence (and in BVS case a butt ton of money) have already done that, I also don't feel that it being panned is any indication of film quality. (Critics have panned every Tarantino movie after Jackie Brown, every Alien films since Aliens, and all but the first Star Wars films) But they have been more vocal recently and they seem to take an undo amount of joy in ripping each new comic book film to shreds. (except for the MCU ones)

I have no vendetta against common sense, and I don't see pointing out a long standing sore spot among film critics and wondering on its impact on films this year as going to astounding lengths to justify anything. Move along friend if you begrudge me an observation.

I really feel there is vendetta against the DC films now, if only because a lot of critics got their feathers ruffled over BVS, if there isn't that's fine but dang...I see a lot of axes that have been freshly grind-ed. In general, "serious" critics hate Superhero movies on the best of days, and they tend to heap up all their complaints for the genre on the ones that won't automatically carry a summer season. (I.E. the non MCU ones)

None of this is to say that there aren't problems with the movie, but I'm happy to see at least one review who seems to have enjoyed it for what it was instead of what he thought it should have been. Will be seeing with a huge group of friends. ^^

Alright, I knew it had to happen eventually, I think Batman readers have been spoiled for a couple o f years now with huge epic story-lines with really good writing and pacing, but Tom King (whose run on Vision was simply wonderful!)'s story really isn't doing it for me. Seems very choppy, with a bunch of shout outs to batman's mythology, but nothing to invigorate the story-line. I like the idea behind Gotham and Gotham girl, but four issues in, I don't feel there's much planning or pacing being put into the story. Also, while the art is great I feel a major disconnect between the script and the events happening. Any one else having trouble? Thoughts?
