An actor who WANTS TO PLAY BATMAN! It's clear bale is fed up with this role and it shows in the movie. If this film followed the plot of the knightfall story line it wild introduce more villains and have way more action.

You obviously have no idea what the heck you're talking about dude. I just read in a huge book about the making of the Dark Knight trilogy that Christian Bale was very eager and motivated to become Batman and assume the role after becoming a fan of the darker Batman graphic novels and hearing that Nolan, a director he admired, was picking up the franchise. He went out for the part himself, longed to wear the cowl, and was thrilled to be involved. And seriously dude, movies aren't all about action. It'd be impossible to fit the entire Knightfall storyline in one movie without it being absolutely terrible. You have no clue what you're talking about, and clearly don't know how to enjoy an intellectual film.

Anyway, as for the actual question of this thread, I agree with the general consensus...it's time for a more unrealistic Bats. Keep the dark vibe, but don't make it so realistic. Show off his genius side, inventing his own gadgets and working more in the bat cave, and make it known that he's the greatest detective. Keep the Joker out of the picture for a while, out of respect and admiration of Ledger, and involve villains like Freeze or Riddler. It'd be nice to see Robin, if done right.

Avengers was great, andi too would like to read some proof to this claim. It sure beats the hell out of the new Dark Knight rises....what a boring lackluster film that was. Barely any action, and when you got a taste it was....since I can't curse lets just say poopy

Boring and lackluster? Really? Avengers was a simple-minded action movie, with horrible one-liner humor thrown in. Not saying it was a bad movie, but very overrated. You obviously just don't know how to enjoy an intricate movie. I understand everyone has their own opinion and preferences in movies, and it's perfectly fine if you were more entertained by Avengers...because that's all it was, senseless entertainment....but by no means was the TDKR a lackluster film. Nolan's trilogy consisted of deep, intellectual, complex, dramatic, top-notch works of cinema, and that is why his trilogy will always be in a league above all other superhero movies. No others have even come close to his level and what he did.

If all you want is a thin and linear plot, horribly unintelligent humor, and typical action movie fight scenes and explosions left and right...then yeah I guess TDKR was boring and lackluster. But if you actually know how to appreciate a real film, and a real work of art, TDKR was anything but lackluster.

I loved it. I almost cried when Alfred was at Bruce's grave. That scene was so powerful to me. I liked the twist with John Blake being Robin as well. I can understand why some didn't like it, but I felt it gave Blake's character a closer sense of connection to the character of Bruce/Batman. I also love that it got the point across that anyone can be Batman with the right motivation, because he's a symbol and not a man, which I think was the meaning of showing Robin taking over the cowl. I also liked that Bruce received an unexpected and happy ending, but I would have been fine with him dying too.

Batman, with Superman being a very close second.

@Crom-Cruach: Glad to see someone agrees with me on this.

@Jorgevy: Maybe I came off as a little rude, but I didn't really mean to sound like that. I was just simply stating that, because everyone is dwelling on the Avengers, I feel it's overrated and nowhere near the best movie.

Avengers isn't needed anyway. It's good, but nowhere near the best. If this was a poll of the most overrated comic movie, then yes.

Just my opinion, and I respect that everyone else has their own as well.

Man of Steel, without a doubt. The Iron Man movies are overrated, and with the team behind Man of Steel, I'm pretty sure it's safe to predict that it will blow Iron Man 3 out of the water.

1. The Dark Knight Rises

2. The Dark Knight

3. Batman Begins

4. Sin City

5. V for Vendetta or Superman (1978)

A list of the worst is hard for me to do because I purposely try to usually avoid the movies I've heard that are terrible. And everyone can rave about Avengers as much as they want, it's definitely not worthy of the top 5 to me. It was a good movie and I liked it, but it's possibly the most overrated movie of the year.

This movie looks like it has a lot of potential, but all we've seen is one teaser that really didn't reveal much at all. Most people didn't even know it was a Superman movie until the end. With Snyder and Nolan behind it, it's safe to say it should be pretty darn good though. Better than Batman though? I doubt it.
