Back from an argument with a neck brace I had to wear for six weeks. Now to get back on the saddle.

Perfect fanzine 0

Seven stories are collected in this Zarjaz issue. I enjoyed all of them. They are fun, moving and readable, even if you are not up to speed on 2000AD or Judge Dredd (like me). The artists who worked on these stories have done an excellent job. They worked with the stories they were given and made them come to life with their artwork in a way that complimented the story. The art is often crisp, clean and straight forward in a typical comic style that does best when working in black/white. I will...

A twist at the end 0

Anthologies can be a great way to show off a large number of talented people. In the case of FQ you don't have to be an established team of artist and writer. If you have a script they'll match you with an artist or vice versa. It's important to me that the story fits the art and the art fits the story and nowhere is that combination more in sync than the first story 'The Shepherd'. It's amazing that Alexi Conman can make us feel so much in just five pages. The artwork by Xia is almost mesmerizi...

Let's get this show on the road 0

This review might contain minor spoiler references to the story line. The series of Orphanimo!! is a 12 part continuing story, you don't see too many of them aimed at a young audience. The story builds up nicely and we're introduced to all the characters in a positive way so we can get to know them better. The issue ends in a cliffhanger which is a bit disappointing. I only bought the 1st issue at a 2nd hand store and now I'm stuck with half of a story (or perhaps even less if the first six issu...

It's the penguins that pushed me over the edge 1

About a year ago I bought the first issue - that's also collected in this volume - at a sale. I was lost as soon as I saw the cover. I've been disappointed with covers before so it was a bit of a risk, luckily the risk paid off because I loved that first issue, so much so that I've been looking for the collected volume ever since (or the second and third issues, whatever came first). I'm usually not that fond of hero-baby and hero-children books/comics or cartoons, that's why I was very surpris...

A new hero has risen 0

Please note that this review might have some minor spoilers to names, objects and places from this issue.Book 1: Page 21 I bought this comic on my last vacation to Scotland. I was looking for 'local' comics that would - perhaps - be hard to find anywhere else and I found many. It surprised me that there was such a great number of them, it shows that the comic business is alive and doing well in Scotland. I was immediately taken by the cover. Now I don't usually go for bulky, half naked men on ...

Aimed at a very young audience 2

I bought this comic this past weekend and was happily surprised that it was aimed at a young audience. That meant that I could give it to my son so he could read it (well... look at the pictures), he really loves Star Wars so I had to buy it (and it was cheap). The comic is a one shot, easy to read, lettering is bigger than normal and the artwork is clear and straight forward. Not too much attention taken away by details in the background. Clearly a comic for preteens. The plot of the story is ve...

I need more of this 2

I'd added this comic book to the Comic Vine Wiki about a month ago and I was delighted when I found it at a local comic store while on holiday in Glasgow, UK. I bought a lot of comics this past weekend, but the sight of Dungeon Fun in the stack I took home with me was enough for me to pull it out and start reading. As I expected, when I'd researched the comic before I put it on Comic Vine, it was really clever, fun and funny to read. The comic made me feel like I was reading an adventure game ...

Better than my expectations for this new foe 1

After I wanted to start reading comics again, after not having done so in about 10 - 15 years, it was difficult to decide where to start. Every story line I'd ever read had moved on so much. Luckily DC had rebooted their universe so I had the chance to get in on the ground floor. First thing I've read from the New 52 is this and I couldn't have started at a better place. The story drags you with it to a deep dark hole where you have to climb out of all on your own. Though I must admit that the...

Doesn't even come close 2

Let me first say that I'm a huge fan of the whole Doctor Who franchise. Whether it's the TV-series, movies, comics, books, audio-books anything and everything I devour. This movie, though I've seen it a couple of times, is hardly worth anything. The plot is weak, the characters are weak and it's just no good. You can tell it's from the 'Miami Vice' era of TV with drug dealers and shoulder-pads ruling the streets and to me it really feels like a very bad Miami Vice plot with some extra-dimension...

Great story! Will be thinking about this one for days to come. 0

I've had this series lying around for about a year. You know how it is, you buy something meaning to read it straight away but it ends up filed away somewhere and it almost becomes forgotten. I opened it up for the first time tonight as I wanted to read trough it to see if I could add some new information to the wiki pages here on ComicVine. This review is for all the issues together. All of the following is my own opinion and you are absolutely allowed to disagree (if you must ;-). I've kept th...
